Our offense is in good hands if our players can stay off the injury list.

My only concern is ..in my 60+ years, I have never witnessed anyone who forgot how to ride a bicycle. It will be interesting to watch D.J.attempt to become the quarterback he once was. Just an analogy ...but one that fits. Hope for the best...This is just an unprecedented experience for me to witness.

We have 2 important games early in the season. I hope Dabo will pull the trigger on Cade early. DJ was no better in the spring game than in the season.

The almost two hand touch rule for the Spring game does not allow players to run the offense. Too many people want to think this is similar to Lawrence and Bryant. I think that Klubnik will become a great QB, but if we are going to have a great season this season, I believe that it rests on DJ's shoulders.

If his WRs stay healthy especially Ngata, Ej Williams, Spector, Beaux, and Dacari Collins then you will see DJ and the passing game look like it did in 2020. I fully expect this years offense to be close to 500yds/40pts per game as it was every year before 2021 and the ridiculous amount of injuries the offense went thru last year. Gonna be another dream season for the Tigers 2016, 2018, 2022!

I believe all of you will be too!
He really hadn't had the hands on time with DJ during the Spring. I'm willing to almost bet; we see a different version of DJU this season. Remember the man had Justin Worley and Mason Rudolph playing at the highest level of college football at Tennessee and Oklahoma St. Will King also set records down in Charleston; and he was another Richardson coached QB.
If DJU is as coachable as they say; and he takes in the nuances Richardson will give him; I believe we will be just fine on offense.
Thomas Austin and that OL being "upgraded" over last year will be just a big a factor to how DJU plays as anything. People aren't saying that enough.

In the Spring game, I didn't see evidence that DJ had improved at all from what we saw last year. I hope the coaches can get him back performing like his freshman year. Also, as I say so often, our OL play must be much better for us to show to be a really good team. We all find out in about 48 days.

I hope you're right, but he has to get it close to the receivers, and then they have to catch it. Neither of those things happened often enough last year.

Yeah...
The funny thing is that when we were averaging 500/40 pts per game the people here on t-net would still find something to nitpick at....

If DJ stops handing the ball off to the defense for touchdowns (recalling his "phenomenal" game against Notre Dame) we have a chance. Otherwise. Go Cade!

I assume you are referring to the Georgia game and I’d like to point out that that same Bulldog defense had a pick six against the Heisman Trophy winning Bama QB in the national championship game. Even the GOAT, Tom Brady, has thrown plenty of pick sixes. It happens when you throw the football.

And maybe a little more due to the simple fact that he handled last season like a true team player! He is an extremely humble kid, wants what's best for the team and puts all the negativity in the background. Kinda reminds me of a Jalen Hurts type guy (as much as I hate to say that). Here's to wishing him and the rest of the team the best season we've ever had! Go Tigers!!

Same here, I would love for Klubnik to have a full season under his belt before he is called on to step in a live game, and everyone around him expecting him to play like seasoned college QB!!!
It is day and night difference in playing HS FB, and college FB. Everything in college FB is bigger, faster, and 3 or 4 times smarter players than anything they faced in a HS game, and that is bc they will face the best players that came out of HS with a year or more college coaching under their belt, and all of them are on the same team, unlike in HS where there will only be one or two players on those teams good enough to play D1 power 5 FB!!!

I think the perfect scenario is for DJ to have a great year and put up enough points in every game to get Cade plenty of snaps. At very least to get drafted as a relatively high draft choice and leave us with a QB that has meaningful experience.

I believe our best chance at a CFP spot is DJ performing at a much higher level than last year. However, even if that doesn't happen and Cade takes over, DJ deserves better boos and cheap shots from us. As a father, I would be very proud of DJ in the way he handles himself in the face of adversity. If the coaching staff didn't believe DJ was giving his best, there would be a much different tone coming out of the program. He is a great kid that regardless of performance should be treated with the respect we would all want of our children. This is something future recruits and their parents pay attention to.
Clemson is all about class, we need to be prepared to show it. I will be cheering for both DJ and Cade to be the best versions of themselves and will never boo, regardless of who is taking the snaps.

I don't think this is talked about enough. I feel our RB's will take up any slack that we may have with our passing game, if the line can open a few holes for them that is.
If we go old school, ala Danny Ford, and pound them with our running game and strong defense, you won't hear me complain. Maybe we should put the crest back on the field too. ">

Of course all of us Tigers wish the best for DJ but he Must learn to Read Defenses and NOT Telegraph where he's going with the ball. I am Not convinced he can do it, in the Spring Game he lost it just like he Lost the GA game. Although it was not a pick six like GA, it was a just enrolled safety who read his eyes and picked him, allowing Cade to lead his team to the Win. Think about it a kid who 4 months earlier was still playing High School picks a supposed Heisman candidate?

All Clemson fans want DJ to do well. All of us are a bit skeptical, but he seems to be taking the right steps. There never has been any question of his arm strength. His problem has been his movement. He's looked slow and indecisive. Having been through the painful experience of last year, he has been in tough situations and may be better in making decisions. Losing weight and improving his condition should make him more mobile. Putting in the extra work with his receivers is also good. Last year there was so much hype and extreme expectations that crashed around him in that first game. Let him get his confidence, increase his mobility and decision making, and we may see the player we were hoping to see. If not, Cade Klubnik and Hunter Johnson are there to take away some of the pressure.

We have to pass consistently to win. I wish DJ the best however, our offense was truly offensive last year. Hopefully the cheerleaders will not have to wear head protection to keep from getting the ball zinged off their heads.

He still needs to lose another 8-10 pounds in order for him to be at his best. And the success of our team next year rests more on the relative success of our offensive line, period!!!! Not on our quarterbacks!

Unfortunately loosing weight does not improve your football IQ. He is not a good QB and never will be. I’ve never been impressed with him since day 1. Hopefully Klubnik will push him to be better.
