Eff the bowls. The fans aren't made of money it's already a burden traveling twice to playoff games; those 2nd round games are gonna be hit or miss when it comes to attendance.

I agree. I like expanding the number of playoff teams but the scheduling and games makes it hard on the fan base.

Your statement is true , during that 6 year playoff run clemson had it was unbelievably expensive. Having to possibly fly to more than more game will stop fans from going , a team like clemson will get hurt badly with fan attendance, they already claim they can’t afford to go to one bowl game ( hence orange bowl vs tenn) , we have been outnumbered fan wise on a few bowls , I can’t imagine attending four if they were to make it to finals. Plus some of these game will surely cause people to lose a week of work woth games being on a Tuesday or Wednesday. I feel like it will hurt attendance bad

We used to out draw our opponents in the Peach, Gator, and Orlando bowls in the past. But not in the CFP era. Against LSU they had 70% in New Orleans. Against Alabama 3 times, they had 60% each game (AZ, FL, CA). Against Ohio State, the same (AZ, FL), but not the joke COVID Sugar in New Orleans in 2020 (only 2500) total fans! Each of those CFP games cost several Thousand Dollars for tickets, flights, hotel, cars, meals. Adding more games just fleeces the fans, and puts players at risk! Just crazy money.
I think the 4 team CFP got the champion right every year! Who cares about team 5 through 13 when the champion is #1. Go Tigers!

And the closest SEC team gets first choice to each of the Quarter Final games!! That may keep the seats full!
I still say balance the Power 5 Conferences to 16 teams each, eliminate Conf Championships and take 10 Division winners or top 2 in each Conf plus 6 at large teams and play the first & 2nd round at home of higher seed, 3rd and Champ. round at similar sites to proposed system. Cut regular season to 10 games (or allow 1st game as an exhibition game against FCS team.)

We’ve done that twice, when we won championships .
If seeded in the bottom 8 teams, you have to win 4 bowl (playoff) games to be champion. The top 4 have to win 3 games, vs 2 currently. And that does not count the conference championship game. So, it could take 5 post season games to be champion. Ridiculous!

This is what I love about expanded NFL and College football seasons....player safety above all else.

I definitely see a scenario where a team at 14 or 15 will have beaten two playoff teams. Congrats on ruining a great sport.

There appears to be one minor inaccuracy. This article and schedule of dates pertain to Professional Football, not College.

It is great for the fan that wants to watch on TV. Not so great for those who like to be there in person.

against high level competition. Thats way too much from a collegiate athlete perspective. Just not worth it if you're a high value next level player. They gotta knock at least 2 games off the schedule.

The only game that should be away from a campus is the championship game. It works great for the NFL.

Who are the six conferences? By 2025, will there be more than 2 conferences?

So Pac 12 champ ( if it still Pac12 exists) gets an auto bid

It should be 12 best teams. Conferences shouldn't matter.
