And I hope that you are 100% right bc, with Clemson QB's, RBs, and WR' never winning the Heisman with the talent we've had over the years only shows Heisman voter BIAS towards Clemson and some of the best college players that has ever played college FB.
The only thing that I hope to see way more than I would one of players receiving what was meant to be the most prestigious award for a college FB player, is for enough time to go by with Clemson producing elite NFL players in skilled positions until one day somebody with the nuts will say, from looking back and seeing that Clemson university has had some of the best college players that became top NFL players, and not a one of them ever was awarded the Heisman trophy. There had to have been serious Prejudice directed at Clemson by the voters for none of these elite (players they will name) Clemson and NFL players were ever awarded the Heisman trophy. And what makes it even more shameful is that John Heisman, the man that the trophy was named and honored after, was once a HC at Clemson university...
One day somebody is going to come along and call out the Heisman voters for the shameful biases they used to wrong elite Clemson athletes....

I guess some people took my first comment as a negative comment because I didn't write an epic novel-length post expanding on a comment I thought most Clemson fans already knew. Dabo plays a lot of players to gain experience. I guess this is a surprise to many. Dabo strategy build programs up and not individual players. I agree with you on a Heisman bias.
I guess I need to do a better job of sugar-coating some of my comments.

I really don't believe the Heisman voters have a bias against Clemson. They simply go for stats and, when possible, a big name program. Even with Deshaun and Trevor's success, their stats didn't quite stack up against the competition. If Klubnik is fortunate to compare favorably with the others in the Heisman competition, I'm sure he'll get a fair share of the votes...

One of the reasons for bias in voting, whether for or against, is that half the voters are former heisman winners. You would have to think that a former usc winner, say Carson Palmer or R Bush, would automatically vote for Caleb. Any chance for us means we would have to have a runaway winner, or somehow pad the deck. The other half are reporters, media, etc, who are already biased. If that pencil necked, scrawny, saban sucking, espn fruit loop gets a vote...you know its going to an sec player.

Dj was on the list last year, and Cade was too! Actually one position above snake boy for the coots. I laughed as our 2nd string was higher than their starter. Yeah these too early lists are a joke. But I do hope they are right. Our tigers need a Heisman, John would have wanted it that way!

managing their stats. It saves the health of the player and allows backups to gain experience. I'd rather have a healthy starting QB at the end of the season than risk him just so he could Lamar Jackson the world in the first 5 or 6 games.

So true if Lawrence had played for Alabama Southern Cal or ND probably had been first 3 time Heisman winner. Even year LSU was title his numbers would have been better. The year Henry won it Clemson won title and Watson have better numbers season and Natty

So true Lawrence was best player each year he played at Clemson. Since he rarely played 4th quarter did get to run up the stats. When you play more players that any other school the yards passing and rushing get spread out more.

You're right! I think it's an effect of having a decade of nothing but successful Clemson football.
The folks who witnessed the Bowden, Hatfield, West days do not complain or find some negative spin about a Clemson player considered good enough to be in the running for the Heisman.
I have to say though: "Dabo plays everybody"! So, if the thought process is simply a commentary on what Dabo has done historically when up big in a game, I can't argue with it"! Meaning; before a player could get enough stats they likely are playing with 2nd or 3rd teamers or are pulled themselves.

Well said. Until actual hard times come around again for the FB program (and boy do I hope that takes a while) this is the new normal it seems. Outsized expectations every year where a certain group will always complain if Clemson doesn't win a National Title. Or 10 wins not being good enough. No team, not even Bama can dominate forever. People need to enjoy the ride and stop complaining about how coach is driving the bus. He's got us there before, he knows the way. Let him get us there again and stop yelling and crying about how long its taking.

I totally agree with you. I have been a Tiger fan for 45 years and I have never seen this kind of negativity. It has become embarrassing and honestly in some cases quite disturbing! Almost ready to give up Clemson on social media all together and just watch the games. Never thought I would ever consider such an idea, but I only see this getting much worse before/if it ever gets better! Go Tigers whup Tennessee and get that top 5 spot!

I'm right there with ya Tiger fan for 40 years! Win or lose that's my team but we have the negative comments coming from the band wagoners!! They don't remember like stated in another comment the years we had a worse record than only losing 2 games! Clemson never gets enough credit in the media! I just like to follow along with what's happening and get a good laugh out of some of the comments! Excited for the bowl game and next season! I will forever yell GO TIGERS! ??

I'm fan of 58 years. My only negatives comments about Dabo and OC is when they don't play the best Clemson QB. KB TL DJ both times cost possible 3 Nattys. KB couldn't do anything against Alabama in Semi dropped the ball not putting in 2nd string 2nd half. In finals Alabama couldn't compete with UGA until put in backup QB for win. TL struggling versus LSU left him in entire game. When should have put second string QB couple series so TL settle down and regroup. 2022 at minimum 2nd half ND game put Cade to try to win the game. ND was actually only 7 point game without special team negative TDs and pick 6. Had Dabo done that we would have been no loss team in playoffs.

Totally agree with you. I’m only 26 but have been a tiger since my diaper days since my parents raised me to pull for them. So my earliest memories are from the Bowden years, and remember a 9 win season being the absolute best that we could do. Never any acc championships, rarely won our bowl games. And most years 7 wins was the standard. So I will take 11-12 wins all day long over what it used to be. Don’t get me wrong, I want to see us in the playoff every year and I think all tigers would agree with that, but back in the Bowden days we NEVER had the opportunity for orange bowls and 12 wins. So if that’s considered disappointing then they’ve forgotten what it used to be like here.

There is also a herd of posters who simply post snarky replies to anything that isn't 100% glowing either. I consider that very negative behavior as well.
There is absolutely no reason someone can't post an honest observation. Its a sports board and people need to be tolerant. This board is a microcosom of what's wrong with people these days. I call it TNET Wokism.
We have reached the top but anyone can see that we are on a slow decline. That's ok though, because in my lifetime of being a Tiger I never dreamed we would have that kind of success. And like it or not, people will measure current success with past recent success.
Doesn't mean a poster is unappreciative because they point out that our offensive production fell to 50th in the nation, for example and post possible reasons why.
If you can't tolerate views different then yourself, then it might be time to get off of social media as one poster threatened to do, as if anyone really cares.

Totally agree that this is a microcosm of what is going on in the world today.
The thing is this works both ways. If someone says they are ok with 12-2 and an OB win then they are called pathetic by someone else If someone says that record isn’t good enough then that are called names as well. BTW - pathetic seems to be the TNET word of the week this week. I believe I’ve seen pathetic being used by both sides this week. The ability to disagree without being disagreeable has been lost it seems. Anyone who disagrees is ________. Fill in the blank with your favorite derogatory term. And I agree with you - this doesn’t just apply to Tigernet. If you don’t think so just post anything on any platform about Republicans or Democrats or Covid and see where that goes.

Clemson dropped to rank 82nd in total offense in 2021, up to 50th through 13 games in 2022. Not sure how that qualifies as a “slow decline” but willing to entertain rational arguments. After the Orange Bowl that might be better.

Poster is FOS...I was here in 69-72 and we were on a slow decline then...don't be too worried about now we have a new year and a new real QB coming...the frailties of the system will be uncovered soon and everyone will be yapping about what to do next. As long as we have a good QB we will be fine...just can't go fishing for a Natty with a dog...Dabo will be better at due diligence next time! GO TIGERS!

Two years ago DJ had a quarterback rating of 111/114 in BCS...that's about as lousy as it gets...they were working off the McElroy theory that if all the planets allign and gasoline goes to 50cents per gallon then DJ will win the Heisman! A great poster just said let the kid play the game and everything will fall in place...ESPN people have to do something for a living they can't work like everyone else so they either play football or announce and do analysis to make everyone think they are working! Cade will do well with a minimum of stimulation...in HS he killed everyone else with slinging the football all over the pasture! We already have cows that can catch...Clemson may be set! Hope that when he gets through with ND next year they opt to join the Missouri Valley Conference!

One of Dabo’s most brilliant turns of phrase is referring to us as “little old Clemson”. That is the crux of the problem when we are compared to the likes of Bama, Ohio State and the University of Georgia, and it extends to the bias involved in voting for Heisman candidates. On the other hand, Lamar Jackson won the Heisman for “little old Louisville” in a year when Deshaun should have won it. After Deshaun led Clemson to the upset victory over Alabama for the national championship, Nick Saban said, “I think Deshaun Watson may be the best college football player in the country.
And by the way, are you watching how Brock Purdy, the last guy picked in this year’s NFL draft, has led the 49ers to two victories in a row? He was a third-stringer for the 49ers, but once pressed into service after Garoppolo was injured, Purdy turned out to be much more than just a fill-in game manager. Yesterday, he showed amazing creativity and passing accuracy in one of the most complicated offenses in the NFL. We faced him last year in the Cheez-It Bowl. We were lucky our defense pulled out that game for us. Purdy was 23 for 39 for 204 yards, one TD and one pick. Our quarterback had a similar completion percentage for 187 yards, one interception and no TDs.
