They are right not to do so, thus far. Our QB struggles

last year included less than stellar play at the WR position as well. Doubly frustrating when there aren't many well thrown balls, and a good portion of the few that WERE well thrown were just flat out dropped. When you look at the totality of our offense last year, keeping that 10 games or more winning streak alive is truly remarkable.

Agree. But we had recruiting busts in several cycles. Who is our proven Tee, Williams, Watkins, Nuk, or even a Ross. Gone are the Amari's, Renfrow's and Scott. We went through a fantastic run until Jeff Scott left. Since, not so much.
Spector hopefully will be serviceable but doubtful he'll get drafted.
Will Taylor - tbd - never seen him in game Ngata? Collin bros? - neither were considered home run, can't miss WR recruits. Hopefully they can stay healthy and develop into next level.

4th and 16…who would you trust to make a play?

I can’t see an obvious WR choice for this situation. I’m hoping for good health to improve the chances & TE’s to open up the coverage for them.

They'd lose credibility if they did rank 'em

Our WR room right now is a shell of what it once was...............if that.

No it's not. I don't know what you're even talking about. It's unproven and definitely needs to stay healthy. If you look at the Ngata was borderline 5 star he has to stay healthy no doubt. Beaux Collins was a top 50 guy. Both Adam Randall, Antonio Williams and EJ Williams were top 100 guys. Spector has to get healthy. Troy Stellato was a top 250 guy. D. Collins was a top 200-150 guy. Then you have an absolute wild card in Will Taylor who let's face it nobody thought he was what he was. So other than Ngata and EJ Williams you have little to no experience. With Ngata not being able to stay healthy a whole year and EJ missing a large portion of last year with multiple injuries. So while I agree that they shouldn't be on any top WR Room list the talent is there and just as much talent as any other team if you just look at the paper. We just need guys to step up and especially DJU. I can't blame a receiver for not playing at top speed 100% of the time when the ball probably isn't coming to you and if it does you have to be an acrobat just to catch it. Or when it does hit them in the hands they are so surprised they drop it. I just think last year was a cocktail of things going wrong. But there is a sense of have to see it to believe it in the air.

So you'd have us ranked what #1? #1 all time wr corp?

Ranking us in the top 20 would be generous considering: the production from the pos group has been mediocre at best(Ngata flashes but is a goldbrick) and our Qb can't hit the broad side of a barn, has no touch, and only 1 pitch, his 105 mph fastball w/ the movement of a knuckler.

That makes sense. We have the talent to be a top 10 WR room. But that requires us to stay healthy, starting with Ngata.

Francis Marion® has to say about this. He went to great lengths recently in arguing that our current wide receivers are just as talented as those we've had in the past.
He shared recruiting rankings and everything!

I actually went to great lengths asking you what year(s)...

you had concerns about our WR recruiting, the recruiting you questioned based solely on WR production in 2021. "It’s an enigma to me why we haven’t recruited better wide receivers recently" -JK. You never answered. It's also interesting that you interpret my question about your apparent recruiting ignorance over the past 7 years as me somehow saying we will have a top 5 WR corps in 2022. In the spirit of no fan left behind, here is an informative piece recently written about our position groups, including WR. Enjoy...

them for that. We’ve had high ranking players in recent years that haven’t produced and until some start to step up in a big way, I doubt we’ll see anyone offering them decent rankings.
