Hypothetical scenarios/question

A person is making $120k per year. That person leaves that job and goes to work for Newspring for $30k per year.
Another person is making $40k per year. And leaves to go work for Newspring for $30k per year.
Both are well respected at what they do and seemingly enjoy the job, organization, co workers, etc. Both cite their reason as being called.

I was only there every other week. People at that church still remember me because so much of my Dad's side of the family go there. He and I are certainly the black sheep.
