Why is Hunter Renfrow not on a team? Is He getting paid a year to set out by Las Vegas? Doesn’t want to play? He is to good to not be playing if wants to play.

Not sure anyone has the answer to these questions. Likely some combination of Hunter no longer wanting to play given his concussion history - his mandated salary is too high - he is considered something of a one off type of player given his measurables do not match his success, so teams are not willing to sign him based on the perceived value proposition. Perhaps he will go work for Jeff Scott developing, building and selling real estate.

Man , I went to see Conway play Socastee when Hunter was QB. I am from Conway and in my day which was 80's and 90's Conway was good and always , or most of the time won that game! That year Hunter and Socastee Killed Conway! Conway has not been any good for a while now!
Go Tigers!

As usual, you have no idea what you are talking about. He may have moved a lot of teams needle, but told them he is not interested in continuing to play. You have no idea what has transpired. Totally ignorant comment.

Perhaps, given his concussion history and the fact that he has made alot alot alot of money he thinks that is good enough.

Based on what I read on some Raiders forums

teams started countering him by playing a lot more zone coverage and just hitting him really hard every time he caught the ball underneath. He coughed the ball up a lot and has had several concussions.
His salary is also likely pretty prohibitive right now, but I'm not sure exactly how that works with guys that have been cut.

I just looked .. He had one Fumble in 2023 He had 12 Fumbles in his entire career with 5 being in 2021.
I don't think his fumbles are why He is not playing. I think Josh Mcdowell did not like him ( as a player, fitting his scheme) I think his salary and injuries probably play into his not being on a roster but I don't know.

He only had 1 fumble in 2023 because he rarely had the ball in his hands.

5 fumbles in one season by a receiver is extremely high. We all love him - but I think his lack of a "football body" caught up with him.

Yes that is a lot but it was 2021. He played an entire season 20222 with 1 and not sure how many 2023 with one.

Probably because if he gets one more concussion his brain will turn to pudding.
He financially set for life. Would you put in the work needed to be an elite level athlete if you didn't need to?
Hopefully he gets into coaching and can eventually be involved with our team again in the future.

I read something recently that said teams actually consider him more retired than available. I'm guessing his agent may have been told to back off doing anything proactively. Like others have said, I think he is enjoying his new farm and raising his young family and the wear and tear he was taking was probably more risk than they wanted him to take.
I'm so glad he got his contract extension after his big year, and before he got hurt. I won't be surprised to hear an announcement at the end of the season.

Maybe the Bucs if he wants to play. Otherwise I think he’s just chilling.

when he decides to retire in 20 years!
People forget Hunter was raised in football as his Dad was a Coach. He has the personal history, the player experience and the player success to be a potential great Head Coach for Clemson one day.

Not sure about head coach but from where I sit, he'd be an outstanding addition to any college coaching staff...

Yeah, he's done.
He lives on a farm in Simpsonville (I believe - could be Fountain Inn) and is looking for business avenues to go down.
There's probably a slim chance he comes back but he's a family guy - no since in jeapordizing his long term to make league minimum or struggle to make a roster.

As 74Tiger noted, Renfrow Industrial is family! Not immediate, but stil family. He is tied to several upstate SC companies thru his last name. He has numerous possibilities in the business world. I believe football is in the past. God first, family second. Whatever he choses Hunter Renfrow will succeed!! Best of luck to him in whatever he chooses!!

Hunter's done. Too many concussions, too many hard hits. He was getting tagged hard in the league. Small frame just wasn't holding up to NFL comp. He maximized his potential and paid handsomely for his services. Wish him nothing but the best.

To be reitired rather than a FA. He hasn't turned in his paperwork so things can always change, but word is he's done with football.

Love Renfrow - Clemson Legend earned

He can do whatever he wants. Yes I think he can still play in the NFL and would have loved the Steelers to pick him up.
I’m most excited to see what his future holds. If it’s just being a family man, he’s earned that.
However, I think his time with Clemson isn’t done yet!
