How many of you have a coot as a boss?

Just got promoted, but my new boss is a coot. I don't think he's too anxious to talk football.
He's certainly a 'Forever to thee' guy.

I do but for only one reason...Steve Spurrier. But, it gets worse...
My boss grew up a Duke fan, he's from the Durham area. He used to be married to a crazy woman whose family were big Iptay members so she drug him to all the CU games and he secretly hated them and her so when the 'Ol Ball Sac was Duke's HC he was in hog heaven. Not only could he #### her family off because of Coach K but now he had Spurrier too. Fast forward several years and lo and behold Spurrier shows up at Scar. Of course he became a huge Scar fan and man was it rough around here esp during the streak.
My boss is 1000% ABC...Anybody But Carolina or Clemson

doesn’t sound like a promotion at all. Was this a “Prayer Request”?
I’ve never had to walk that path . . . and as old as I am . . . I am able to keep that record clean.
As MyfavOrange® often says, I’ve got the sads” for you.

I had a very loyal Coot for a boss before I retired from the State. BUT, he was a wonderful boss and a very close friend to this day. Can happen to anyone who has his/her head screwed on straight!

Most of the higher ups at my work place are Clemson. Some SC co workers but nothing to rough. Well some say they are fans but they do go to games and I seem to know more about what is going on with their team than they do. They really was shocked they did not play us any better this year. They felt like this was the year.

My neighbors behind me are both Carolina Graduates and fans. They are both kind, classy and respectful.
They never say a word about any kind of sport if we are playing them but their opportunity for their first real we are coots was this past November lol.
They were talking and being friendly and the wife mentioned to me before the game her husband felt like they were better and they better beat us this year.
They have barely made eye contact since, but they do wave....
30-0 really hurt their hopes.... life is good being a Tiger!

completing military service, and, frankly, have very close friends who are Carolina alumni and/or fans.
Additionally, upon founding my own business over 45 years ago, some of my earliest and most supportive customers were Gamecocks, each aware of my Clemson ties. In all of those relationships sometimes there are very mild, good-natured ribbings; however, we value our friendship highly enough to avert childish confrontations over the rivalry between our schools.
Of course, I want Clemson to excel; to beat Carolina in sporting venues. My friends no doubt want the same for Carolina. But we simply aren't going to resort to insults over our loyalties. And I wouldn't expect any mature, rationally-thinking adult to behave any differently.

I haven’t had a boss in almost 20 years, but my last boss played football for Western Carolina. He was an insufferable meathead and hated Clemson for some reason, the day I quit I couldn’t wait to tell him.

In my last job, my immediate boss and his immediate boss were both coots. I started there in 2008 and left in 2015, so that sucked from that standpoint. Neither of them was particularly "talkative", leaning more toward smug.
Changed jobs in 2015, and now I answer to three owners - all three coots in some form or fashion. Two are fans just based on geography, as they are from out of state, but the third is a SCAR alum (which probably explains why the other two chose as they did). The "real" coot, though, is not much of a football fan. He could probably name the coach, but if I asked him to name 3 players, he would probably fail. In 2015, I was new around here, and things went our way all year (until that last game), so we didn't really talk football at all. But in 2016, right after Pitt hit the winning FG (I was still in my seat), he sent out a group text, which included all three owners and several others who knew a little something about football, that said something like "Go Panthers!" In the heat of the moment, I replied with the most obscene text I have ever sent. I have never received another group text about football since. I wondered for two days if I had a job on Monday.
