Wow, who knew Brent Venables was run out of town...

You run a man out of town by promising to match any offer made by Clemson? Granted, bringing your brother back in to take over his old position doesn't scream confidence in him, but it was the dood's brother.

BINGO!
Living out in NM I have some serious OU homers around. They, to a man, said when this was going down that they hated and loved the guy. Not for x's o's or recruiting, but for perceived missed opportunity that they had to put on someone. They all stated they would miss his recruiting for sure, but hoped and thought that his game plans and prep could be at least kept the same.
So at least we get an OU-esque DC that can recruit. We'll, hopefully, see fruition from the recruiting angle in the coming years and hopefully get an upgrade on X/O's per game to OU's level this season.

BTW, one more thing, each of them was pissed to an extent(woe is us to sucks, but we'll be OK) that he left when it actually happened.

One thing that always bugs me about the 70 points given up

to West Virginia: the sportswriters pin all those 70 points on the defense. Yes, the defense did not play well. But, the offense was responsible for at least 2 of the touchdowns scored by the Mountaineers. Obviously, there was the fumble return. Also, Boyd's fumble led to a short touchdown by WV. There were 2 other turnovers by us. Yes, the defense deserved criticism. But all those 10 touchdowns were not the fault of the defense.

Tigernet Vocabulary Lesson #47
Mar 8, 2012, 2:26 PM
[ in reply to How many of you are "preturbed"? Don't like the sound of it.*** ] |
|
Pre-turbed:
1. A Colonospic High Pressure Event(CHPE) taking place despite ones' best efforts to supress it in the presence of others. 2. CHPE symptons occurring after reading illogical posts by SCAR athletic supporters on TigerNet. 3. Flatulence. Antonym: Post-Turbed 1. Soiled britches or slacks 2. High concentrations of vaporous hydrochloric acid present to ailomentry(sp) nerve ending. 3. Canine sniffing of rectal areas.

Wish I could have pointed you more than once. But it wouldn't let me, and I'm pre-turbed by that
