Can we beat Wake with DJ?

Most Clemson folks I know where done with DJ About halftime of Uga game. I kept saying give him a chance.?? Well after Connecticut. Please play Taisun , no way he can be worse than what we have seen . I’m sure DJ is a great guy but we need fresh blood now ! DJ clearly isn’t the answer short or long term.

Run more fake FG plays - no look lateral to Potter streaking …

around the end. Maybe Potter throwing to a tight end.
My favorite would be a double reverse with whoever is healthy at WR hitting Potter in the right corner of the end zone.

A miracle for all facets of the game to play near perfect.
We’ve seen the offense. They can do it but they’re inconsistent. DJ will need to have his best game, being above average. Right now he is below average.
The defensive secondary will need their best game. No blown coverages.
BT needs to be on his game. I think he can be.
The Tigers should be focused be we know the weak link in this scenario is DJ.
It will take a miracle performance. I believe we can do it. But they need to prove it.

I would also add that a huge dose of PRIDE should be…

…served up.
Some down home, dirty, self-serving, heart bleeding, sapping PRIDE that the Tigers DON’T lose to the Wake Forest Demon Deacons IN DEATH VALLEY!!!
THAT’S IT! Remember ‘81 — Clemson 82 Wake Forest 24 - Not a basketball score.

NOT UNTIL THE NCAA ALLOWS HIS HEISMAN LEVEL PRACTICES TO COUNT! ACCORDING TO DABO, HE'S THE BEST QUARTERBACK IN THE HISTORY OF COLLEGE FOOTBALL DURING THE WEEK.

I think we all are beginning to take some of Dabo's comments with a grain of salt. Is there a Med that one can take which cures "Coach Speak?"""

It won't be easy, but if DJ can figure out what Steve Sax did to regain his accuracy, yes. If DJ continues to look lost like Steve Blass and Chuck Knoblauch, no.
DJ's inaccuracy, failure to run through his progressions, locking on to one receiver all are issues that still exist after 10 games. He may well have talent and great physical skills, but at this point he is simply not good.
Chase we miss you!
Somehow, I think we do win. Our D and their D may make for a Tiger win.

Yes if we get our linemen, backs and receivers off the injured list so he has all the players to work with.

Real question is can we beat wake in spite of having DJ? Has happened 7 times this year. Number 8 is a tall task.

Absolutely, we can beat Wake with DJ!!
Unfortunately, Wake doesn't have DJ, we do!!!
So, NO, we can't beat Wake if we have DJ. Unless he's on the bench. If TP is still injured our best chance is with Helms.

if we line up 5 wide and just let him get rid of the ball fast sure. sprinkle in some run here and there. Hes gonna have to prove he can throw consistently or its going to be a blow out. We have too many key injuries.. these wrs are going to have to come in and have a game of their lives.. ALL of them.

In short yes AND no.
Yes, if he plays his cleanest and best game of the season. Like I've previously said, the defense will show up. They know what's on the line. Last home game for the seniors. Title game still technically on the line. Plus the ultimate X Factor of the season, Brent Venables. But DJ will have to get it together. He doesn't have to be amazing or superman. Just hit the receivers. Make the correct reads.
But I also say no for obvious reasons. He plays like he did this weekend and we don't stand a chance.
But this isn't all on DJ either. That oline HAS to get a push and make lanes for the running backs. Receivers NEED to make blocks and catch the catches that do hit their hands.
The key number is 30. In Wakes lowest offensive production outings, they were held to roughly 40% 3rd down conversion ratings. We get them to 30% 3rd down production and we have a chance. Defense holds them under 30 points and we have a chance. Offense scores over 30 points and we have a chance.

It actually is because of DJ. UCONN put 10 in the box all day long daring him to beat them through the air. You can't ask the OLine to block 8 to 10 guys and get a push.
He missed wide open receiver after wide open receiver all game long which never made the defense back off and allow the Oline to have one on one blocking and open running lanes.
