How does Clemson counter 8 or 9 guys in the box Saturday?

As Eric McClain alludes to in his interview from Charlotte today, UNC will likely load up against the run and dare Clemson to beat them throwing the football.
Streeter has certainly gotten more than his share of criticism this week. If you were him, how would you overcome the fragile confidence and limitations of your QB to create low risk explosive plays when the running game struggles?
Streeter certainly has his work cut out for him.

has good ball placement in front of the receiver. Make the defense run and make tackles and you can set up a defense for low risk explosive plays when the receiver fakes the block and gets up field.

As for exact plays and routes, that's Dabo's job to figure out. I suspect he would love to see 8 in the box on 1st and 10 at midfield.

If we use the wind and rain forecast: run up the middle and bubble screens with the occasional low percentage completion pass that is 40 yards down field on 3rd and 2.

Screens to the running backs and draw plays. Slants across the middle also. I expect to see none of this.

TE slant - TE chip blocks with out routes and seam routes..... swing passes to the RBs...... 2-back motion option pitch...... power sweep pulling off guard, tackle and center..... power sweep/out-or-seam route to TE...... counter trey.
Don't get greedy - if they want to load the box, just take it to them and hit the short passes mixed with power runs and misdirection..... old timey GB Packer football.

I know your right and it's just so sad that any sustainable level of a forward pass is impossible. I know it's sarcasm as well. We will no doubt be running a lot on first and second down setting us up for those impossible 10 yard out routes with double coverage. I look for a lot of punting against an eight man front.

We line up and simply pound it and it becomes depth and position and attrition and ball security. Eventually “hopefully” our 3 short game power RB’s and depth/ability to substitute guys will start to wear down the defense. It take slight more energy to react than act, so they should be in a deficit eventually.
