I'm happy for PJ the way he's playing, but thinking we're gonna be playing some smallish ball this year unless Leyte or Wiggins has a huge come-up.

Hall 6’10” Schieffelin 6’7” Clark 6’8” C. Hunter 6’3.5” Girard 6’1”
Off the bench, we will have:
Leyte 6’10” Wiggins 6’10” Godfrey 6’7” Hemenway 6’4” D. Hunter 6’3.5” Beadle 6’3”
I consider that really good size. The only shorter player for their position is Girard, and he has clearly shown that his height is not an issue.

Selfishly I'd like to see him play another year but if he gets a decent grade, he needs to go.

I mean if PJ plays well enough he decides to try the pro game it could lead to a smaller lineup even with some taller guards. We will be going all 6'8" or shorter unless Wiggins or Leyte is ready for the spotlight. I don't know enough about Leyte, maybe he's a beast, and Wiggins looked decent last year but it's a different mentality as the starter vs. a spot guy off the bench.

I hope so. I know Brownell has said so. Just looking at how he's showing out right now it might have him thinking some about the jump.

Will they announce Brownell’s extension at the same. Since it’s a certainty and you’re a insider?

I've always felt he would come back but I don't think it is quite the slam dunk it was. Feels more like an 18-footer hit or miss at this point. If he has another solid day at the combine, he is going to definitely have some interested parties. I can't say for sure but I also wonder if he has any concerns over injury with coming back.
I still think he returns but feeling more risk now than before. Good for him to show well and get himself in a great position either way.

It's not bad. Lot's of acc teams played 4 guard set last season. But obviously 2 are like small forwards but it works.

If PJ comes back, it's looking like we'll have a pretty good team next year. This would be Brad's best team yet as far as having all the pieces in place.

Both Hunter Tyson and PJ Hall subsequently earned invites to the NBA Combine, but you've linked a twitter post that is from May 13.

If PJ can continue to drain the 3 like that with consistency

then he will have a future in the NBA. Would be nice to see more of that from him at Clemson.

Hard to imagine him improving his 39.8% 3pt shooting from last year.
He has one heck of a shot with a quick release, especially for someone that is 6'10 with a 7'1 wingspan. Where I want to see him improve is his post moves and scoring more consistently down low against bigger centers. He also needs to improve in rebounding and defense.
If he is healthy, I expect him to have a big time offseason and a huge year.

be nice to see a lot more of that from him at Clemson, instead of banging underneath most of the game. He needs to be shooting more 3s; I think he'd be very effective on the perimeter. I didn't mean that he's not a good 3-pt shooter. His future in the NBA will not be underneath.

we can come on TNet and hear the experts gripe about how Brad's teams shoot too many threes and don't get the ball inside enough.

It's interesting to hear other fans perspectives. For the record, I typically enjoy your basketball and political posts.
Some will say that he should be banging down low more and not shooting as many 3's.
Some will say he should be shooting more 3's.
Some will say our offense is simply passing around the 3pt line until we chuck up a 3, and we have 0 down low presence or development.
Some will say if he misses 3-4 in a row, he should completely stop taking them.
If he has a healthy offseason where he gets stronger, improves down low, and maintains shooting 40% from 3, he could easily be a first rounder next year.

Actual combine is over. O-Max appears to have been one of the biggest upwards movers. Tyson acquitted himself well but probably not well enough. Hall did not play well in his scrimmage time.
