Honestly, I'm not super comfortable playing the App State Giant Killers this weekend. They have quite the reputation for beating the "big dogs" at their home stadiums.
I think to be comfortable, we need to at least score in the 40s and certainly higher is better. And I think letting App St get anything more than 10 would be a bad look as well.
One thing I know - we won't have to close off an upper deck so that we can fill in the lower bowls like FSU did for their home opener - and that was a conference game! It didn't look bad from the stadium cameras, since the blocked off area was behind and above them, but they had that darn blimp there (or helicopter?) that showed those nice aerial views of the totally empty upper section.
Hoping the guys can get it together and put the past behind them on Saturday and come out and play up to expectation and talent.

Define hater! You mean somebody that is 74 years old and has loved and supported Clemson her entire life, whose father is on the walk of fame? I have some concerns about our team. I’ve had some concerns about our team and I don’t think because you voice That you’re a hater and a non-fan ! If excellence is our call then mediocre isn’t good enough in my opinion!

all this price gouging I see on the tigertickets page is downright blassphimous. Daddy and I use to go to games with a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, 2 RC colas, and a tube of chapstick and thats all we needed with our $30 ticket.
I dont know what seat eqity is but it sounds like a bunch of hogwash so the upper crust newbie clemson fans can get rich off of dabos success and respect.

The “haters” will remain until we beat a top tier program in a meaningful game. At this point they aren’t hating so much as pointing out the glaringly obvious fact that we have lost several steps and are trending in the wrong direction. And getting such a win seems unlikely at best
We are in need of major philosophical changes, on the portal, on the way we use NIL, and on whatever the h**l you call our disaster of an offense the last 4 years. All that along with at least a few mid level coaching changes (Grish, Batson, all the friends and family GAs, etc)

I don't think winning, even winning big, proves anything. Now if we go on some kind of run for the rest of the season then maybe. Just like losing last week doesn't ruin the season a win this weekend doesn't mean we are back. Not at all.

Only God can change emotions. Sometimes He does it with circumstance over long periods of time and at other times it's instant.
Most of the disrespect coming from the media (ESPN in particular) is due to Dabo being the one coach who upset their apple cart. He has handed them very embarrassing misses on their predictions that only an SEC team can beat an SEC team. Embarrassment is another emotion but we've already discussed that.
Now it's vengeance they suffer and I say suffer because the venom they want to inject in Dabo only embarrasses them more, imho. Hate changes, embarrassment never changes.
BTW, Dabo has made it clear: He won't run up the score on a weaker opponent. It's called sportsmanship and I'll take that over the general public changing its mind about our program or this season.

A win is a win. Haters shouldn't really affect the mindset of the program one way or another. What matters is what is in the W column and that needs to change to 1 on Saturday.
I still don't get the "Giant Killer" moniker for App state. They are a tough team at times, but they only have 3 ranked wins in program history.

We just need to win the game. Doesn't matter if it's by 7 or by 35. Even if it's a blowout W, the narrative will likely be that App state just isn't any good. The reality is that we should beat them handily because they aren't that good relative to where we should be.

We won't dispel any haters against App St. regardless of the score. It will take beating someone that people believe is a worthy competitor. Handily beating NC State a week later will be the first real opportunity to get that bad taste to start to go away.
