Had a teen steal a check from the plate and try to cash it at his school. Crossed out the church name and wrote his in.

I’ve got the best true story yet ... one of the very very devout Christians that I have mistakenly done business with was the church treasurer . He deposited the offerings in his own account and wrote the church a check for the offering. Makes for a real good tax deduction at years end! ... in gods name,

I’m sure he didn’t know that! No one would even think of checking on the actions of this man of god. Before he died he took for two million. May he Rest In Peace . I assure you that I will.

when he died they found 200K in the trunk of his car.
If the pastor didn't know about the treasurer, he should have been fired. Fraud is not a good look.

pastor, biblically, is overseer though. Whole lot of malfeasance in that situation. One person clearly handled all money responsibilities, which is a no go. You have people who count, fill out deposit slip, deposit and record who gave what. Different people!
