He has not shown it this year. He really hasn’t shown much this year on anything. Maybe things will change Friday night??

This is eerily similar to when we had Ben Hall at tight end

and underutilized him big time.
I’m not saying that we have a Ben Hall on our roster now, but our failure to incorporate the tight end in the passing game is the same.

QUICK name 2 other teams with better resumes in the CFP era!

Duh, there aren't two. Geez, I bet if we used the tight end more in the playoff era we'd be #1 instead of #2 .
LOL. You just keep swinging and missing.

Without the direct contribution of Leggett Clemson doesn’t win the NC in 2016. Elliott needs to find a way to get more receiving production from the tight ends.

Why do people live in the past? College football has a short memory and is a “what have you done for me lately” kind of business.
So, what has TE done lately that makes him immune to criticism?

The TEs have not shown the ability to catch a pass this year

Whose fault is that? ?????????
But, the idea of “using” the TE is sort of dependent on the ability of the players to inspire confidence of the coaches.
There are so many major and minor issues across the board on offense that it’s tough to spend too much time worrying about trying to force production out of a particular position group.

TEs either block or run routes. DJ has had on average 1.5 seconds to throw the ball before first contact. Take away the extra blocker and he’s toast. If we had an average oline the TE could run more routes and be a factor. But since we don’t that position is stuck blocking every play. Now if DJ would be rolled out left or right more I think that would help. But his pocket or lack their of just isn’t strong enough without the RB and TE blocking. Even with 6 blockers it’s still not enough.

I have read that when he drops back, he goes short, is there any truth to that? Going back two or three yards and not 5 or 6 yards. Serious question, due to work I have been unable to watch them play.
