As long as he's a fit with Dabo Indiana's DC is the no brainer pick

B. Haines has had dominant Defenses thst stop the run without great talent at all his stops. Just imagine what he could do with a roster littered with 4 and 5 stars.

The only issue would be money. He already makes $1.8M where he is. We'd probably have to make him the highest paid Assistant coach in College football, which means at least $2.5M per year to get him to leave. We can probably afford that, but that is a pretty steep price.

I doubt a good DC is looking for a lateral move but in this case...

learning to run a program might be attractive if Dabo is the teacher.

Plenty of coordinators look to make moves to major programs

It would be a lateral move, but he'll never have access to the talent, facilities, support staff, and work/ life balance that'd be available to him at Clemson staying at Indiana. I'm sure those were some of the reasons why G. Riley left TCU for the same position.

Indiana to Clemson is not a lateral move.

I'm wondering why someone would make a lateral move from B1G to ACC school.***

I don't think Dabo is going to go no brainer on this, I think he's putting alot

What about Nate Woody?

Look at what he does with Army. Give him some real talent and let's see what happens. Plus he makes less than 500k right now so it would not be a lateral move...

Army's defense didn't look very good this year against Navy (I just had to write this). Go Navy, beat Army!

Gotta be extremely careful with service academy coordinators

Their ball control offenses lead to a completely different set of circumstances for their defenses than what "normal" defenses face.

Army was 9th in total defense this year, but only 54th in defensive efficiency. They led the country in time of possession (Air Force was 2nd) which means their defense was on the field less than anyone else's in the country, and they also defended the fewest plays per game (56) of any team in the country.

Mac Brown went this route when he hired Jay Bateman from Army about 5 years ago, and that ended up being a disaster.

It’s not him. It’s someone currently in the playoffs for CFB or NFL.

Money talks, but he's got close ties with his head coach. Don't think he would move to Clemson. He can stay where he is and get a HC offer in the next couple of years if he wants it...
