They know they have a talented team, but they also know with 100% certainly that 9 wins is their ceiling because of their head coach. That has to be frustrating.

But if they went 11-1 to Clemson’s 12-0, I’m sure our fan base would be fine with it, though I’m sure you’re right. They only won 9 last year WITH a win over Clemson so maybe 8 is their ceiling when Clemson is good.

First question that needs to be asked why would you even think about imagining uou are a nancy state fan. 2nd is who cares. Trash team with a trash coach and trash fans. They beat us in a down year in overtime on their field. If everyone is healthy when we play them in Death Valley, game will be over early 3rd quarter.

I did the math the other day. NC State is 3-6 vs. non-ACC Power 5 teams over the last 10 years. The fans will tell you they had a few canceled on them, but still only 9 games!!
Someone can correct me, but I believe Clemson is about 26-7 over that time period.

I took my two oldest children up from Tampa to Clemson in 2006 when we won 20-14. My tickets were upper deck north near the NCSU fans. My daughter was 10 years old at the time. From the opening kickoff until the end, there was a constant barage of noxious filth coming from their mouths. My daughter told a middle aged NCSU fan in front of us that Jesus would not like him to be speaking that way. He laughed. We moved over several rows into empty seats. I can honestly say they are the rudest fans I have ever seen. They are perhaps even lower than the lamecock legions of inbred misfits.

I don't subscribe to the statement they have a "talented team". They have a few bright spots, surrounded by a lot of 3 stars under poor coaching. Last year was not an indicator of this year's game. Their fans will be out of the Valley before the 3rd quarter ends!

But Doren grew facial over the summer. Richt did the exact same thing his final season at Miami, and it ended his college coaching career. And to be entirely honest, I can not name a single head coach that won more than 10 games with facial hair. Thank gawd we do not have that problem at Clemson

Several were grads and considered themselves total, hard core fans.
And yet, they absolutely never went to away games even though Duke, UNC, and Wake were just down the road.
One of them even left home games (winning or losing) @ the start of the third quarter so he could “beat the traffic” ... it was bizarre!
Honestly, the only time I saw this group get excited about the football team was when they played Notre Dame in the Gator Bowl. You’d have thought it was for the National Championship.
I guess what I’m saying is that while the student body has a reputation for being very shall we say “exuberant”, the grads and other adult fans are very uninvolved.
