You can hate Trump but at least he has the capacity to go back and forth with a very hostile reporter for an hour. Joe can barely read the prearranged notes he's been handed. If Joe went somewhere and had to respond extemporaneously for an hour in the face of hostile questioning he would be reduced to a quivering mass and even the left knows it which is why they hide him as much as possible.
