Lake Russell spots today? There has been a lot of bait fish up in Cold Water creek the last few weeks.

trucks already there...and gone fishing. I hit my first spot with a frog and lost a nice 4 pounder...3 hours later I caught a legitimate peckerhead. And at 12:40 I was down the lake a little way and thought..."If I leave now I can be home by 2 pm". So I hit it and went back to the ramp at Allen Creek to an EMPTY parking lot....AT TWELVE FIFTY!! I heard and saw bass boats running wide open up and down the lake all morning. I am assuming they all had as much fun as I did....I fished 6 hours,made maybe a thousand casts...and caught one peckerhead. I fished shallow,deep,fast,slow and then that wind got up and I had had all the fun I could stand....Picking up a new kayak Monday...so smallies will be in danger next week....I hope they will anyway...

I have a friend who takes a fillet knife and zip bags with him when he goes fishing. Don't know where he hides them. Game wardens know all the tricks. Go get 'um Spud Man.

Lol it wasn’t until I read the comments that I realized you were talking about fishing. I was thinking “peckerheads” was just another word for “coots”.
