Here is a GOR question I can't answer?

Could Clemson and FSU win their right to own their media rights? If so, could they stay in the ACC and just negotiate their own media contracts and pay the ACC a fair percentage? Why would they have to do anything different than what ND does with the ACC? Maybe pay a little more to be fully engaged instead of excluding football like ND?..
Just a thought? While I think the ACC would be a hard sell, it would be dumb for ACC not to consider this as FSU, CU and ND are the three biggest Brands. Especially if ND would follow suit with FSU and CU to engage football further?

ND is not a FB member. Only a member in the olympic sports. ND does NOT pay the ACC any money from their FB media rights contract with NBC.

And yet those POSes got ACC money during the COVID year and got to play in the ACCCG. Sweaty Swoffie was a terrible commissioner.

That is correct, they are not a FB member, but they are a member with their other sports, and Clemson and FSU should have the right to do the very same even with their connection to the ACC just as ND does it...

We should have the very same right as ND does with marketing their FB on their own. Nothing different, and the very same deal for whoever in the ACC that wants to market their best sport without being in the ACC with that sport!!! What's good for one should be good for all, and that is what Clemson and FSU should be fighting for, and it should be an easier case to win since the ACC does that deal with ND...

I concur! Why can't CU and FSU fight for same agreement? But with the 3 schools working together, why not negotiate their own media rights contract and include ACC at a fair value. If Duke, BC or WF only bring certain value then let CU bring similar values keeping the difference. While CU wouldn't touch the BBall value they would by far overcompensate for the FB gains just as ND does.

Here’s a tidbit now revealed in court filing that was previously redacted.

The answer is, if Notre Dame is allowed to be an ACC member school and markets their FB on their own cut off from the ACC, then any other ACC member should be able to do the very same bc that is exactly what ND does as a member school of the ACC. Maybe that should be the fight that FSU and Clemson should be taking to the courts bc I don't see how one member school is allowed to do that and others aren't!!!
I also bet that Clemson and FSU could market their TV contracts as a pair of teams, and would probably get more money by doing it as a pair of FB power teams!!!

Several reasons it isn't feasible.

1. The ACC would never agree to it. 2. If the ACC agreed to it, how much money do you think ESPN would pay the ACC for TV rights if those games didn't include FSU and Clemson home games?

If ESPN wants to maintain ACCN then I assume they would pay more fore FSU, CU and ND games. My guess is ESPN is just waiting for the ACC to die so they can shut down ACCN. If they wanted to keep ACCN they would invest into better programming but they continually run old games that dont match the season. The NCAA baseball regionals are playing and ACCN has the WF Spring game on TV. Why would that even be an option if Espn was worried about viewership? My guess is ESPN can't wait to kill the ACCN.

It’s not a matter of the ACC agreeing to Clemson and FSU leaving and negotiating their own football rights contract, it’s what the courts rule.
