It is a local tradition to leave your ticket and a $100 bill on the hood of your rental car while you sleep in your hotel room tonight. You will have two tickets and $200 in the morning!

Hello Aggie

Answers below:
1 - Where do I exchange currency?
An ATM should work. Value of US dollars should be stable, but who knows?
2 - Do y’all speak English around these parts?
Yes. It sounds really sexy, so you probably thought you were in Paris, but just speak nice and slow and listen carefully before responding and you should be golden.
3 - Any unusual foods to be wary of?
Brisket. Stay with the pork.
4 - Is the water safe?
I know it’s common practice in East Texas, but do not drink straight from a creek or river. Giardiasis is not something you would like to have. I would stick with the water coming from the taps or any water spigot or even stick with bottled aqua.
Hope this helped you my friend.

However, I lived most of my formative years in SC, but most places I’ve been since, people asked if my accent was from Texas. But nice try!
Welcome to GOD’S COUNTRY and just know: There’s something in those hills!
Hope you enjoy your visit - well, except for the football game part!

1 - Where do I exchange currency? Most banks in and around Clemson will have a stockpile of Clemson $2 currency with a fairly good exchange rate. 2 - Do y’all speak English around these parts? Clemson is the premier university in the state of SC and most fans are fairly well educated, but you may pick up on some fans drawing out words a little longer than they should or adding 2 or 3 extra syllables to other words. People from Texas, however, should be able to pickup quickly on our dialect. 3 - Any unusual foods to be wary of? BBQ means pig served with mustard-bases sauce in SC. It's good. If you see something on the menu called 'chitterlings', don't order it. You don't want it. 4 - Is the water safe? Tap water is good and safe. No worries. This isn't Mexico. Just don't drink water straight out of Lake Hartwell and you'll be fine.

1. money: I'll convert it for you for free. I'll be at the Esso Club around Noon and easy to spot. I'll be in orange.
2. language: Why would anyone from College Station be curious about that foreign language English? We speak mostly Southern around here with some English influences.
3. foods: Chitlins, especially "Once Slung Chitlins". Trust me on this.
4. safe water: I don't dilute my bourbon with water, but you wusses should do what you feel is right.

The first time I went to Texas, a store clerk asked me which country I was from. I cracked up laughing. A word of advice, do not mistake our slow talk for being stupid. We pride ourselves on making people pay for that thought. Enjoy your time in the upstate. I am looking forward to getting back there myself in the morning.

Cant remember who said it. But one of my favorite quotes about The Great State of South Carolina was " it's too small to be a republic, and too large to be an insane asylum "
I dont think it was meant to be a compliment, but i kind of like it!

As a Texan who had the good fortune to go to Clemson: The water is waaaay better than what came out of our faucet in Midland, we all talk funny, but it’s pretty much the same funny, and BBQ is different; not wrong, but different. We went to Blacks Smokehouse in Seneca on a recommendation for the Georgia Tech game. Get the smoked chicken! They raise their own chickens, apparently on a treadmill, and the ones that don’t go pro as running backs are served with white sauce. Those thighs are huge! Just don’t get any beef, go for pulled pork with mustard base sauce or the above mentioned wings and enjoy the difference.!
