But, why 11 games when SEC’s playing 10?

No chance we schedule Oklahoma or Texas. Would make zero sense when everyone is trying to streamline schedules.

The ACC stated that it has to be an in-state School. Rumor has it that the level of wofford, Furman ,South Carolina state, are considering playing in the spring. The only reasonable replacement would be Coastal Carolina. They are in the sun belt? No official announcement from that conference yet, but if there is an 11th game, that might be the only option available.

I believe that rumor is completely made up.

No incentive for us to play an extra game when it isn’t required. It won’t make us much if any money, and will only risk COVID exposure and injury.

Why not tell USuc and the SEC, if you don’t play us this year... Then we walk away from the rivalry game completely and schedule one of those teams this year. Then you have a chance to schedule someone else in Carolina place for the next 17 years. End the season with an ACC team every year and schedule 2 P5 schools like always. We all know the outcome of about 80% of the Clemson/ USC games anyways. This gives Clemson the opportunity to play Tennessee, Texas, Michigan, Florida, etc. Also Carolina can schedule Coastal, Furman, and Wofford every year and maybe get 6 wins.

ACC rule (which could of course be cahnged) said the 11th game had to be played in the state of the ACC school.
