Concerts tonight in Chucktown

I wanted to go to Hank Jr. tonight but my friend who was going with me had something come up. Wife wanted to go, too, but then one of our closest couple friends informed her that Everclear is playing at the Windjammer tonight and my wife was leaning that way, so I conceded and gave up on Hank. Also the Jammer vibe sounds a little more relaxing tonight than battling the Credit One crowds. Everclear wasn't one of my top 90s bands and I'm not sure how good they are anymore live (hopefully he's still not mad at his dad after all these years). But haven't seen a show at the Jammer in a while so that probably won't suck.
So I dunno, random chance any y'all out there tonight, catch me at the pool table.
Sturgill Simpson in two weeks, though, at Credit One. Can't wait; give me feedback on how he is live if you've seen him.

Jealous of the Simpson concert, though

but he aint gonna just do the songs as you know them. He is extending them and jamming a little which I imagine pisses some people off. I am jelly, would love to see Sturgill.

In fact, he isn't having any opening acts for this show. Just him starting at 7 p.m. until they shut it down. I don't mind the jam aspect; may just pop a gummy and sit back and enjoy.

The last time I saw Sturgill was mere days before the pandemic took over.

Sound and Fury was new so he played that, then some Sailor's Guide stuff. Some guy in a cowboy hat walked away. Sturgill then said "Where are you going, Cowboy Hat?" and started playing the stuff I'm sure that guy was there to hear.

I've seen Sturgill live when he opened for Willie Nelson who came out, threw his hat in the crowd and walked off, not playing a lick.
Sturgill was good, but it was like 93 degrees outside, and first thing he said in the mic was 'dayum its humid out here!'

Yep, full Sturgill and part of Old Crow Medicine Show.
Had to laugh when Sturgill got the word Willie was hanging back. Went straight into an eight minute freeform that I think was called "Sturgill jams in A Minor".

Vax had just come out so the crowds were finally gathering again after a year of booolshit. Still a fun show, and absolutely no danger of them going past the 10pm curfew since they can go through their entire catalog of 30 2 minute and 30 seconds songs in like an hour fifteen.
