Georgia Tech head coach has been listening to Dabo Swinney
Georgia Tech opens the 2019 season on the road against the nation’s top-ranked team, on a Thursday night, with a new head coach and a new system. They’re also 36-point underdogs, but don’t expect new head coach Geoff Collins to use the underdog role as motivation or utter “shock the world” pronouncements. I think he did a good job at Temple in his 2 years there. He took them to back to back bowl games when they hadn't been to one since 2011. He had some good players that he inherited, so we don't know a whole lot about how he's going to recruit.
But, you put anybody in the position of replacing CPJ at GT and I'm betting they're saying the same thing: i.e. 1) We're completely transforming this program (don't expect too much out of us this year). And, 2) We respect Clemson (because they're the #1 team in the nation and are going to smash us hard).
I don't think you can really begrudge the guy his rhetoric leading up to what has to be an overwhelming challenge.

Temple went bowl games in 2015 and 2016 so he took over a solid team at Temple.

You're right. They haven't won one since 2011.
Also, Jeff Collins was their winningest coach since 1948. He did better than Al Golden, Steve Addazio and Matt Rhule. This is a solid hire for GT. I have no doubt GT will be a better team with Collins at the helm.

Your bonds will be hella stong after that lol.
Seriously though, seems like Coach Collins has a good head on his shoulders. Maybe I'll start despising Tech a tiny bit less. He certainly can't control their scumbag fanbase or rickety-a** POS train whistle stadium, though. At least we'll have fewer ACL attacks by their O-line.
