(15-31 160 yds 0 TD 2 INT) in loss to Washington has locked up the Heisman with this signature game and is most likely the #1 pick overall in next year's NFL draft. Congrats DJ, I knew you had it in you! I never lost confidence in abilities and potential for regression.

who is considered a Heisman front-runner.
Low completion percentage coming in, made worse by a good defense and truly bad weather.
Taking snipes at someone who isn't here anymore just makes Clemson look bad.

He just stated that our offense didn’t suit his abilities, and he was exactly right about that. He wasn’t the 5 star QB he was projected to be.
Now his helicopter dad did make some inappropriate comments about Clemson and our coaching. I really wish that for his sons sake that he would just sit back and keep his mouth shut.

Help me understand why you think DJ was right for placing the blame on our style of offense when his numbers are very similar in a pro style offense this year.

It all worked out for the best DJU was able to be on a good team his last season and we were able to develop Cade.

He quit on Clemson. He didn't want to compete. We watched him for two years -- high throws, low throws, picks, crumbling under pressure. After they get drilled this weekend by Oregon, I hope the DJU love will go away.

Can bash a player who's trying his best and that's ok, but if the player leaves, he quit on Clemson. Seems more than a bit unfair.

you'd rather he stick around and we just all would have to have a QB controversy all year. As bad as our record is its still would've been a worse fan experience to have all that noise.

Very true that the kid is very low key, and generally not your step out front leader. But did you watch the teams we put around the kid while he was here?
First, we nearly got him killed with swinging door OL's against teams like UGA and ND.
Secondly, the run game wasn't nearly as complete as it is now - Ship and Mafah have both grown up a ,to in the past three years, Mafah especially.
Thirdly, we had him running a stupid RPO game that he hated and wasn't very good at. You've seen the problems that Cade has had with exchanges. It is arguable that Cade has been just as slow as DJU to pick this up, and Cade hasn't even been the runner that DJU was - yet. He's faster, but he may not have broken one single tackle all year at this point. DJU was a key component to the run game in his 2 years, especially with QB Power. He wasn't as good as Tajh Boyd, but still was a key component. Cade isn't there yet.
Fourthly, we finally have a real play caller at OC, thank the Lord. The play sequence has intent now, unlike with Streeter, and probably in his early years, even Elliott as well. DJU needed a completely different Offensive scheme, which is what he has at Oregon State.
Finally, go look at the WR room. Even with all the injuries, Cade's WR room is miles ahead of what DJU had here. Simply put, every time DJU dropped back, there may have been only one actually competent receiver on the whole team available. You can't catch your own throws. The tip off here was what DJU did in 2020 with Powell and Rodgers and Overton, etc. He got the ball to good receivers. He struggled once our receivers were Ladson, EJ, Spector, Ngata, Ajou, etc. There simply wasn't anyone to throw to.
People have heaped way too much blame on DJU. Quite frankly, he wasn't surrounded with the talent that DW4 or TL16 had, and his shortcomings compared to those QB's were then just easier to see.
SO..... just shut up and let the boy live in peace. DJU gave this school two very meaningfuland competitive years. I wish him the absolute best.

He wants to play football, and the best route for him to do so was a change of scenery with a new team. It didn't work out fo rhim here, that sucks for all involved. I get some of the dislike/mistrust of Big Dave as his social media posts were, at times, unnecessarily negative.
But DJ came here and tried, and represented Clemson well.
It didn't work out, shake his hand and wish him well in his future. Don't have to cheer for his team or even pull for him. BUt I see no reason to have any hard feelings for him,

We can't block or get our receivers open. That can create problems for a quarterback.

Oregon St is lucky their running back had a great game and the fact that they were playing during a torrential downpour. If not for those 2 things they would've been slaughtered

The big back, Martinez, got shut down when DJU needed him the most in the 2nd half. Thus they couldn't get anything going after their first drive of the half. But he's had a great year and is legit. Reminds of a modern Raymond Priester.
Also, everybody kissing Penix' ### is a ####### punk. Penix had a 6'3", 215 lb target top throw to. DJU's WR were 5'7" and 5'7". Short receivers that can't get separation aren't worth for much... UW covered them well even as DJU put the ball on target all game.

Yea he had a game I thought we would have seen more of this season.
With Clemson’s style of offense I still do not understand why he chose us. Nothing we do or did fits his game imo. Under center, drop back or hand off seems to be what he does best.
Wish the guy well!

DJ’s ability did not mesh well with Clemson and we both needed a change. What’s with people like you that seem to just despise him regardless?
