A key factor in Neff’s decision was that he didn’t sense apathy among the majority of the fan base, which was reflected in attendance at Littlejohn Coliseum. Neff said average attendance was higher than it was last season, which sure didn’t hurt the bottom line.
“From a financial standpoint, we exceeded our plans for season ticket sales and single-game sales,” Neff said. “From a business lens, which is certainly part of my job, those are metrics that are important to the decision of any program. I just think this past year and where we’re at from a program standpoint, those things continue to track in a good direction.”

The fact is, men's basketball is all about tournaments... ACC and NCAA.
Brownell 's teams are failures in both of these categories.
No amount of blind loyal stupidity from anyone towards Brownell will change that.
He is a failure at winning what matters.

I think he’s playing a little fast and loose. We averaged over 6600 last year. Final numbers aren’t published for this year - but just scrolling ESPN box scores we only had a handful of games better than that. We had conference games in February with attendance below last year’s average. Even if we’re slightly up from last year, we’re way off from the peak of 8700 under Brownell. We average 8300+ under Shyatt. So it’s silly to pretend anything positive can be gauged from current attendance.
