But it’s ridiculous to criticize a player who represented Clemson well. He’s done some good things at Oregon State this year too.
DJ has his team 4-1 and ranked in the top 20. Sadly, that’s better than we are doing right now.
Sorry to break it to you, but I’m not jealous of Clemson football. Rather, I’m sad at how much of an underachieving program we have become.

Demonstrably false statement. No one that loves Clemson would have to lie about factually provable circumstances (UVA game attendance) just to make it look bad. Then block every user that called you out on and go into hiding. Then, we re-emerging go full throttle attacking our football program. You never had the best interest of basketball and you are not a fan. This has nothing to do with gatekeeping. You are someone who actively and champions what is worse for Clemson at any opportunity and seeks to incite discord at every opportunity.

I agree that it is sad how many people take joy in his failure. DJ represented Clemson well in every other way than on the football field. I didn't like a few of the comments that he made after he left, but some of the same ones that take joy in his failure are probably the reason he lashed out.
At the same time many of your comments seem a little disingenuous. You use every chance to point out when someone is acting less than classy. I'm not sure that your comment is as much an effort to defend DJ as it is a chance to chastise a small portion of the Clemson fan base.

Posters like JK (who you are repsonding to - I believe) used DJ to bash our coaches relentlessly. According to him, DJ’s failures at Clemson were a direct result of negligence on Dabo’s part in hiring and the inability of those “amateurish” hires to coach and scheme for DJ. So JK has little room to complain when DJ’s performance at OSU undermines those arguments. JK’s still here, bashing our program every day under false pretenses, and it should absolutely be pointed out how wrong he is every time he takes to the keyboard.

You never extended such courtesy to any of the players Brownell inherited from Purnell. Or James Skalski. Or Boulware. Or Shipley. Or… come to think of it DJU is pretty much the only player you do stick up for cause you like using him to bash the coaches.

You mean the “perfect over the shoulder throw” that was actually over the defenders shoulder and was caught knee high by a falling down receiver? Should have been a pick. It was a duck. The curl route on the next play was a decent throw though. He usually put those in the dirt or in a coaches hands.

He didn't work out but why anyone would pull against him is childish and mean.

I’m confused, since when is 14/25 for 200 yards an awful game. We’ve only thrown for 200 yards or more in one game. DJ moved on. He was never a bad ambassador for Clemson. Wish him the best and move on. Imagine actively reveling in what you consider a poor performance by a former Clemson player… bad look.

Your comment is just not accurate. Clemson has had more than 200 yards passing every game this year. Cade has 976 yards passing year to date.
DJ is just an average to slightly above average college quarterback. He’s succeeding this year because he has a good team around him. He doesn’t seem to be able to anticipate players open, and he is just slow. But I will say the thing I miss about him is his quarterback runs in the red zone. That was probably his strength. If you remember last year, Clemson statistically had one of the best Redzone offenses in the country.

What are you talking about? We’ve thrown over 200 yards in every game this season. After only 4 games, Cade has thrown for more yard - twice - than DJ did in all but 1 of his 26 consecutive starts in his two years as qb1 at Clemson.

A decent QB. Completing about 50% of his passes. Throws a few easy ones in the dirt. Makes a couple of great throws. Throws a head scratching interception.
He is who he is. He did the best he could at Clemson and handled his personal life like a champ. But to expect different results at a new school - would be unusual with his exhibited performance over 3 years of work.
One predictable thing. Judge K will state that DJU did not get good coaching at Clemson. Predictable for him as he tries to deflect from Brads criticism. He is simply a hater.

Dj looked exactly the same to me. Makes a good pass then makes a terrible pass, then makes a slow read, then throws a wabbly ball that someone drops. Throws a pick, gets 2 picks dropped. Scores on a run in the red zone.
Felt like I was watching last years games
He can’t process info fast and has terrible foot work. Cannon arm tho so baseball would be his best shot. Slow game and only has to process info as fast as the pitch clock

Oregon State's coaching is at least smart enough to realize he can't execute read-option run plays. They are running the offense to maximize DJU's capabilities, meager though they may be. Good for them and good for him.
