Time and time again, Social Crusaders: marry your feel-good ideals to grounded fiscal principles or you're just inviting hyper-inflation and shortages, and a whole mess of unintended consequences and blowback...look no longer to the gas lines of the '70's that put Carter on the skids and Reagan in the White House to see how that looks.

History doesn't repeat but it sure does rhyme sometimes, as wise T-netters have said, so maybe that's what happens again. And while America is not going to turn back to the Trumpists - sorry guys, you're awful, and the rest of us are never going to trust you psychos again, not that those of us with actual brains in our heads ever trusted your grunting fact-free racist anti-science/anti-fact/anti-reason roll to begin with, that sh!t ends with the SS on the streets and Jews in ovens, and if you don't like being told you're a Fascist when you're acting like Fascists, well, sorry - what could well end up happening is that an inclusive and grounded centrist coalition that actually knows how to manage money could end up looking pretty durn good to people in '24 and beyond. We could see a Reagan-type back in office again.

Adam Kinzinger just dropped a video a few days ago for his Country First movement, and it was hard not to notice how much his vision of America just seemed like...well, the normal vision of America, not this alternate left-hand or right-hand version every political hack in the world seems to be trying to sell us these days. If I'm given any kind of choice, I'd personally take what this dude is actually not selling us.

It's like: hey, look here, guys. Normal America.
