I don't really understand the point in redshirts anymore, barring an injury. Seems like so many try to test the draft after 3 years anyways, I wouldn't even want to put the thoughts of a transfer in his mind. Instead of using a RS, play him to for development/experience when we get comfortable leads.

Unfortunately Cornell doesn't have near the production to "test the draft" after three years of playing. It buys him more time to develop--not sure what's hard to understand about that.

But if the other team never scores, do you really need a good kr man? 1 play a game seems like a waste.

This is a win/win for all parties involved

Powell is an exceptional athlete. Gives him an opportunity to redshirt and transfer, or redshirt and stay in Clemson. I hope he chooses to stay. I’d like to see him give safety a shot because I think he could be a difference maker there.

Redshirting will also take the pressure off this year to specialize at WR when he has 5 guys ahead of him. It could give him and the staff a chance to cross train him at another position.

I think Clemson will be as loaded at receiver as we've ever been in 2019- So no... Things won't be easier for him by no means. I don't see how a RS helps....at all. His best move, make the move to safety....AND NOW.
IMO #21

I for one would love to see him returning kicks. He has break out speed and sure handed. But he could definitely help at receiver. GO TIGERS!!!!!!!
