If your kid’s school got shot up, I’m sure you would agree with him. My best friend was murdered with a legally obtained 9 mm by a 19 year old. that changed my view on gun control completely….

That’s horrific. I’m so sorry, man.

There is no justifiable minimization of that tragedy, and it may not influence your policy opinions whatsoever, which is fine, but please know that in this “category” of evil, your friend’s murderer is vastly outnumbered by criminals who obtain firearms illegally. Evil is evil, but illegal possession is the biggest elephant in this discourse. Not wanting to spark a big debate outside the P&R bored, but policies must be directed more toward curbing illegal possession if there is any shred of honesty about data in various legislative bodies. See Table 6 (and others) in the link below.
Terribly sorry for your loss.

In other words you made an emotional decision not a rational one.

Facts, statistics, reality don’t matter to you. Just emotions?
You sound like the idiots that were attacking me throughout the Covid craziness when I was pointing out this stupidity of everything being done by the left including masking vaccine mandates etc. etc. People attacked me and asked what if someone in my family died of Covid. And my response was of course how any reasonable rational person should respond, I would be devastated, but it would not change my opinion. Because I don’t make emotional irrational decisions. I’m a libertarian. I believe in facts data science rationality. I don’t change my opinion based on emotions or how personal something may be. In fact I’m motivated more to stick to my guns, pun intended, because I think it puts more responsibility on me to belevelheaded and rational because people will look to me for my opinion since I was personally affected.
So sad to see that you’re willing to change your opinion on something critically important to American society regarding the constitution because you’re emotional. My parents raised me to never make emotional decisions. They told me to always sleep on something or wait a few days when making decisions that are important. Because people rarely make the right decision when they are emotional.

I’d say your probably full of #### or just trying to play victim. Very few people do not know someone who was killed in a car crash, shot, or passed from tuberculosis. Yet they dont feel the need to post something on a website to make folks feel for agenda
