Has College football outgrown Dabo?

Dec 31, 2022, 12:18 AM

This happens with all great coaches at some point, but I am getting concerned that maybe Dabo isn’t equipped for the new landscape of college football. If he doesn’t make the necessary changes with his staff and bend a little on his stance on the portal, he deserves his seat to get a little hot next season.

Surely you’re joking. Do you honestly believe that his seat is going to “get hot” at Clemson when he wins 11 games and the ACC championship? Now, I wish it would, but my friend it will not.

This is just the beginning

Of a long fall down. We have need to be proactive if he want to salvage what as been built. Does building the program to the level it is really entitle you to burn it back down?

You're smoking crack.

As of now, no

10 win seasons in NIL/portal years is saying something.

We aren’t replacing our talent with equal talent. 10 win seasons are going to run out soon.

I mean, yes, it has passed him a bit, but no, his seat should not get hot. That's ridiculous.

If you want to go from 10 win seasons to 6/7 or fewer, then by all means, fire Dabo.

I think it's unfortunate, but it appears that our idiot fans will run him out of town for not sustaining that insane level of success.

We should temper our expectations a bit and enjoy being a very good team.

is their ceiling. These are not playoff caliber coordinators. Remember that they are still playing with someone else's recruits. That will be going away soon unless we get better coordinators.

No, but I do believe college football has outgrown our offensive line.

Yep. You called it. We now are UGA with Mark Richt. Good guy, good enough to to 10-2ish and a div champion with a bowl every single year, pulls good recruits looking for a wholesome environment where Coach prays for them while the fan base keeps thinking “we are just one win away from being there.” The whole time, holding down the second half of the top ten and not being taken seriously by any of the top 4 NAT winners.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

^ not far off.

Dec 31, 2022, 10:25 AM

We need some “carnivores off leash” in the coaching and player slots.

No. Not at all. Clemson will be great again, but sometimes there will be a few year lull and then a great few years.

So let’s get something straight here…There is not and will never be a “hot seat” for Swinney…His money is guaranteed and they can’t afford to pay off his remaining salary to fire him…Best case scenario is he takes a job somewhere else or retires.

Um no… best case is he stays and continues to win 10+ games a year.

It’s not exactly what we want but better than most have it.
