decent down the hill tiger band only plays the "hold that tiger" part one time. So what happens is the crowd spells C L E M S O N and only half the team has run down the hill. The other half of the team runs down in silence with the band walking towards the endzone and the stadium announcer introducing the captains. Why doesn't the band play through one more time and give the crowd another chance to spell C L E M S O N and let the other 40 players get the full experience??? Bye weeks are boring!

Seems to take longer too. Maybe they spread them out so we could have the the 'Most Exciting 50 Seconds in Football'?

Have you watched how long it takes them to get into the stands? They need to be in their seats so that they can be ready for the kickoff, much less out of the way for the kick-off, should it be toward the Hill.
Everything at the games is very scripted now, both for TV and for game continuity. For pre-game, they have an exact minute and second count to come out on the field. Same thing applies to getting off the field for kick-off.

It's scripted. Was in band, and we all knew that we had to start Orange Bowl at a certain time so that we could be off the field. Did not want draw a delay penalty against the team. That said the team was always on time or a little earlier. so we would go when gathered at the top. One obersavation I can make is that the team goes down more 1~2 at a time versus 3~5 like I remember.

Not only does it take longer nowadays for the team to run down the hill, but we only have time to play through Tiger Tag one time due to ACC rules about how many people are allowed on the field right before the kickoff. We basically have to play and then get the heck out of there. I remember one year instead of marching off we had to all out sprint so that the team didn't start the game with a 15 yard penalty.

coined the length "25 seconds" because that's how long he determined it took a single player to run down the hill and make it to the sideline, not the length of a round of Tiger Rag. It doesn't take Dabo 25 seconds for sure. Maybe that's how long it took Danny back in the day.

With the band increasing in size there is not enough time for them to get off the field prior to kick off.
