It was starting to show a little wear in the second half but good grief... two football games in soaking rain in seven days! Most fields would be mud! I don't think there's a grass field anywhere in the country that would look any better under these conditions.

Didn't Clemson develop the variety of grass used on the field? I think I read that somewhere.

That's a fact. They have done an incredible job. The grass on the field has been 419 Bermuda for many years and I assume that it still is. 419 is a variety that was developed by the University of Georgia. I believe by Dr. Glenn Burton who was the father of many varieties of improved turf and forage varieties of bermuda.
