I have to say I’ve never been more disappointed in Clemson family. Many tiger paw laden vehicles were slow traffic left lane squatters. What is the relatively new phenomenon where people feel they are entitled to block traffic and ride the left lane while holding up traffic?! Most people start out patient waiting for the slower driver to yield. People grow angry and flash their lights, blow their horns, ride their bumpers, and pressure them to move over. Instead they slow down to block people in. If the right lane opens they will speed up to keep you behind them. Between Spartanburg and Cootville the Tiger family was some of the more egregious law breakers. Yes, it’s against the law. If you’re slower traffic you belong in the right lane as the law states. You’re not entitled to ride the left lane. It takes just a few seconds to yield to faster traffic. It’s safer to do so. I ALWAYS yield to faster traffic. Let’s set the example. Especially when we’re representing the greatest university on the planet.
Rant over. Soapbox put away.
Go Tigers! Beat Wake!

Omg you’re getting me started early today!! That is the thing that drives me CRAZY when driving on the interstate. They are everywhere. I drive on I-77 a lot and I-85 a good bit too . I don’t show them much grace because they should have never been in the left lane to begin with. You’d think everyone passing you on the right would alert them that they need to move over but Nooooooo. Many of them don’t. It’s like they are allergic to the right lane(s). Most of the ones I see are NOT in cars with tiger paws on them 😀

Team up with another respectable driver traveling at the posted speed limit and just ride side by side
Frustrating the lawless speed demons to no end that infest our roadways
Only yielding to emergency vehicles
If you want to pass me at 90mph, you can try to do it in the grass or on the rumble strips on the shoulder

Agree, two sides of the coin. I feel the pain of the other posters and even though I don't drive anymore, I agree with your post. I'd drive left lane 80-85 which I think is more than comfortable enough. Most are in the left lane passing slower trucks on the right. So they're stuck too.
Yes, I totally agree with the others, if someone is left lane at 70, they should move over. That's the law. But sorry, can't feel sorry for someone that's frustrated at left lane drivers going 80+.
Most of what I'd see is the weavers as explained by others who closely jet the right lane and then squeeze in the left lane only causes worse problems. Sadly my nephew is one of the worst at getting frustrated with left lane 80s drivers and I fuss at him constantly.
My rant over. Go Tigers!!! Can't wait to watch the 2s and 3s show out. So come on Dabo, don't play cade and mafah deep into the 3rd. Get the 2s and 3s in early and often. Let us fans see what they got.

The ones I’m talking about are running 65-70 in the left lane. Then speed up to 90 trying to keep people stuck. I’m patient. I’m a very courteous driver. Anytime I see someone out pacing me, I’ll move over even if it gets me stuck in the slow muck for a few minutes.
I understand that on a four hour drive running 86mph only gains a little bit of time. It adds up to around twenty or thirty minutes saved. However, when on a 18 hour trek it can take an hour and a half off the journey. Let’s face it, running 85mph can be the slower bunch in certain areas. I’ve felt slow running 90mph average in some areas.
Slower traffic than the average causes more wrecks on the interstate than high speed travelers according to US Dept of Transportation. It’s always safer to match the speed of the herd than to be the outlier running 65.
I’m just asking people to drive with courtesy.

You're breaking the law just as much as the lawless speed demons are. The left lane is only for passing other cars in SC.

How slow were they driving in the left lane? Were they 5 or more over the speed limit and you thought they should drive even faster? Or did they have their ol' cruise control set on 45 to maximize fuel efficiency? Were there drivers in the right lane not maintaining a constant speed or faster drivers that kept passing them on the right, making it difficult to find a spot for them to safely move right? Were you late on picking up your order of "hot now" Krispy Kremes?
I've got to know the whole story before I can sympathize.

Its really a matter of courtesy; which seems to be lacking in a lot of people. The law becomes a bit hazy when vehicles are at the posted limit. N.c. law is similar, until you are traveling the posted limit, which it then becomes officer judgement

Wake forest is a town near Raleigh in the east, but Wake Forest university is in Winston Salem not in the east. Straight up 85 to 77 you don't go anywhere near Columbia?

WFU was originally located in the town of Wake Forest NC, but big tobacco money came calling to build WFU a new campus if they'd relocate to Winston Salem because the city felt they needed a university similar to other major cities. So WFU agreed, the new campus was built, and the original campus was sold to the Baptists as a seminary.

So you’re saying that 26 before Columbia isn’t on the way? What’s your point. I was headed to Fayetteville. East of 95! SMH. Hung up on the WRONG details.

I’m well aware of where it is. I’ve lived in the area since 2017. People still must travel to Cootville via 26. I was headed home to Fayetteville after being back home helping my elderly parents clean up hurricane damage before heading to Wake myself. Why does my destination matter? Any way. Anything else?! Lol

. Many upstate Tigers take 385 to 26 to 77. Which was the case. SMH. Wrong discussion and details. I was headed to Fayetteville first, which is eastern nc. Anymore useless points?!

In SC, "Starting August 15, 2021, the new law, Section 56-5-1885, will require drivers to only use the far left-hand lane on controlled access highways while they are passing or overtaking another vehicle."
It's not a "good idea", it's the law.

Clemson was at Wake Forest. Pretty simple. That’s why so many Tiger fans were taking the same route.

Maybe the worst are the 18 wheelers ..... one going 58 mph in the right lane (on a 65 or 70 mph interstate) and the one on the left passing at 59 mph .... until they hit a hill and then they are both going 58. Meanwhile there is a half mile of cars behind them. It is particularly bad on I-26 going from Orangeburg to Columbia.

I’ve never seen nor heard of anyone getting a ticket for blocking the left lane, same for tailgating.
If anyone here has ever received or heard of anyone that has ever received a ticket for either one of those infractions, I’d be interested to hear about it.
Here in Dallas the rules of the road are as follows. 1. Stoplights are mere suggestions, if you understood how important I am, you’d know that I shouldn’t be expected to obey a lightbulb. My right to do as I please supersedes your right to be alive. 2. The left lane is for me to do whatever I please. 3. My pickup truck is a weapon and I am entitled to use it to threaten your life any time I like for my own personal entertainment. 4. Regardless of all circumstances, I have the right of way at all four way stops. 5. Pedestrians are in the way in all parking lots and should expect me to run them over after I cop an attitude about the fact that they’re in the way. 6. You should apologize to me for thinking that you could go through that green light while I was busy running this red light. 7. I know it’s a 1993 ford fiesta, but I’m interviewing for an F1 driver position with Ferrari, even if it kills you. 8. Turn signals are for idiots. If you weren’t so lazy you’d be reading my mind. 9. I don’t like using my “high beams”, but my headlights to have a “Sun” position.

You had better believe that Texans are heavily armed. I used to carry. I haven’t in a long time now. I decided my temper was too bad.
I’m pretty old and life has answered this question for me. Not one time ever in my whole life have I thought, “Boy, that would’ve turned out a whole lot better if I had a gun”. So I quit carrying.
I am the only guy at my work that doesn’t carry.

I have a hard time when I come back to the U.S. and get on the interstate. Camping out in the left lane doesn’t work when someone can pop up behind you doing 160. I pass, then get out of the way, here in Germany and at home. But slow pokes in the left lane force the weaving and passing on either side, which I don’t regularly have to deal with. There is always an adjustment period once I am back stateside.
