Brad Scott is an excellent football coach who got a bad

rap b/c of Spence and Bowden's scheme. He is an excellent offensive mind and OL developer. If he were to "leave" Clemson... he would almost be able to name his next job...
he is that well-respected in coaching circles.

Maybe so, but I still question his playing of Lambert...

and he isn't the best recruiter in the world either despite being in SC for a million years.
I did like how he used to find weaknesses in other team's schemes for great trick playes. Seems as though he's lost that ability as of late though.
I like Coach Scott but I would not cry a river if he left either. His son might be more valuable at this point.

And I might add....

there must be a reason he has gone from head coach, to OC, to OL line, to guards and centers coach.
He's not exactly moving UP the coaching chain!

we hang on to Brad Scott is because of his son, Jeff.
I'll leave that to Dabo. But the bottom line is developing talent. We don't win on recruiting classes. We win on how we make those recruits into winners.
There are a lot of great recruiters. There aren't as many great developers of talent. The programs that have those are the ones that win games.

says who? you? i have never heard his name mentioned nationally as a good o-line coach. no team has come looking him (e.g alabama, texas etc). because if there was i am sure you would pointed it out ( a la spence and raiders). bowden sr. recovered amato after he got fired but didnt come get this "excellent football coach" after his son got fired? come on. he is a mediocre coach who keeps getting demoted the longer he stays here.

So which will be the excuse next October from the BS homers?

(A) Kyle Parker needs to get rid of the ball quicker (B) Napier's play calls confuse our young linemen (C) The four point stance is more comfortable (D) Our linemen were looking ahead to careers in the Canadian Football League
