Trump's grandfather was an immigrant, his mother was an immigrant, and 2 of his 3 wives were immigrants, proving, yet again, they are willing to do jobs Americans won't.

electing a socialist to be mayor of the financial capital of the world will be a zinger NYC may never quite get over.
He's young, well spoken, and smiles a lot. but when asked on CNN, "Do you like capitalism?", he responded."No, I have many critiques of capitalism."
He has tweeted,'Capitalism is theft.'
It's none of my business, New Yorkers are free to make their own choice, but their ultimate loss will be gains for FL, TX, NC, etc..
He's a slick charismatic version of Ilhan Omar, a congresswoman he has great admiration of.

Sure thing, he is a great proponent of socialism and Hamas. That is just fodder for PUBS during next election cycle, have fun with it. When he runs NYC broke there should be ZERO Federal tax dollars to bail that cesspool out.Dems never learn.

Actually the only point you have is the one on top of your head. You continuelly misrepresent what others say, you attack anyone that does not hold your own very black and white viewpoint. You actually tick off 99% of the people here. You sir are a dinging of the highest order, if it was an Olympic sport you would win Gold,Silver and Bronze. You are a DB of the highest order my friend, you wear out well.

That you twist what people say to steer the argument into your preferred territory, often accusing them of things they never said. You just did that with me and my statement on the Super Bowl. Even the people who agree with your views see that.

We've had this discussion before but it's a pretty strong defense mechanism

used by people who are called out for being wrong.
It's the equivalent of a bunch of people who got an answer wrong on the test telling the teacher that it's really the teacher who is wrong.
I've provided multiple examples of when you're wrong and used neutral large language models to explain why you're wrong. Unfortunately, I can't make you admit that you're wrong.
But the objective reality is that you often make logically inconsistent arguments then get upset when someone who has a greater rational intelligence than you points out when you're wrong.
It's the same thing RFK Jr and his collaborators do with actual scientists.

I'm gonna borrow a quote from you from the other thread
Oct 20, 2025, 11:36 AM
|
|
"This is the classic if you look around and don't see an ahole, then you're the ahole."
Or if you sit around thinking you're the only one who is right and logical, but a whole board filled with intelligent people are telling you that you:
1. Consistently employ strawmen 2. Demand people admit you're right on everything 3. Twist people's words around 4. Use blanket, sweeping generalizations
Then maybe it's time to step back and consider they might be right.
Taking someone's words, twisting them into something else and attacking them, and then declaring yourself the victor is not a win. You consistently do this and the rest of the board sees it. If you DIDN'T do that, I'm certain someone would tell me that I'm wrong in this accusation. Let's see if anyone tells me I'm off-base here.
And I'm not concerned in the least bit about any claims you make of superior intelligence.

Can you provide an example of any of this actually happening?
Oct 20, 2025, 11:49 AM

I think that's the problem, you continually make this argument.
So far you've never exactly provided an example where I did this. In fact, the threads you've claimed, I showed you why you were wrong and you still couldn't admit it.

Every thread where we've ever argued

I've pointed it out multiple times during those arguments. Don't pull a Kiwi and pretend you don't remember. I'm not digging through months of posts. You know I said it then and pointed it out then.
Let's open it up to the board. Am I off base or does 09 regularly do this?

He regularly does this.
Dude's an intellectual contrarian, which I don't mind - if nothing else it makes for lively discussions - but when somebody starts talking "superior intelligence"...no bueno, there.
It's like: take a breath. There's a lot of very bright people on this board.

or of this is more accusing someone of straw man arguments while committing a straw man fallacy?
Also, you can both be bright and struggle with logical reasoning. That's the distinction here.

They may but funny thing is I could find no place that breaks out NYC alone. NY State comptroller in 2023 said the State generated roughly $320B to Feds and got back $380B from Feds.
Point being Mamdani most likely will blow up budget, thus needing $$$ . If he does the socialist money grab from those deemed to have enough they will leave. Then what, once you chase off the ones paying the bills you are left with the needy.spiral down gathers speed.
He can only touch rent protected properties, that too must go through a 9 member board. Interesting thing is that is less than 1M units. Rent freeze for 4 years will entail no maintenance to said units/buildings. Is he gonna mandate insurance, property tax and contractors cannot raise rates? Worst case owners convert to condo and get out of the headaches.

his only socialist policies are city owened grocery stores, city opwned public housing, and free daycare for working families, and that is really strecthing it. If he were to sieze propety and give it the state, that is a different story. You guys love to throw that word around without considrring its meaning. and fyi, our public schools, fire departments, police, parks, and other public woprks projects are socialist under this definition. These are all no profit services provided by the state for the public good. Unless you are a .1%er, because he has explicitly said he would raise taxes on the ultra wealtghy to pay for these serives, I would not worry so much about it, unless you enjoy sucking off milliionaires and billioaires.

considering my generous salary, company profit sharing, full dental, vision, and low deductable health coverage, I'm good. I am already living in a quasi socialist utopia
But for my own selfish resaons, I'd probaby feel less guily every time I step into any retail outlet and see a guy with heart disease and diabetes while making 16 dollars an hour.

agree, but he is not going full blown socialist in his campaign ppromises, these are modest steps. A ton of states and municpalities have rent controls. Many states have city owned grocery stores, Geogia, Missouri , Maryland, Kansas, Wisconsin, etc.. New Orleans offers free Daycare. None of his new, or controverial, and these programs work. Notice how many are in red states.
I think a lot of people are concerned over nothing. Sadly people in this country continue to vote outside of their own self intersted with the slippery slope argument. Who would not want free day care paid for my the top .1%, or cheaper alternatives for gorcery shopping? This should be a no brainer and model for other large cities where the cost of living is through the roof.
But lord help us if some giga Millionaire gets their taxes bumped up a few points and can not afford the 60 foot yacht and has to settle on a 55 footer. The world may end.

It was all the grandparents. His father is the only ancestor Trump has that was born American, and that's only because his human-trafficking grandfather and grandmother were deported from Germany (had run brothels in Canada, then tried to return to Germany after dodging conscription earlier).
