It seems the teams are close and the one that lost last time has an edge the next time around. Last year I thought Bama pushed us around and manhandled us. We manned up and had the edge this time

The biggest difference to me is how each team handled "losing".
Clemson owned their loss and didn't make any excuses.
Following this year's game, Bama has made a bunch of very public excuses.
In 2018 our Offense (the OL especially) played their worse game of the season vs. Bama. Our coaches/players never made excuses. Neither did the make idiotic statements like "We Beat Ourselves", "It Really Wasn't Anything They Did", etc....
In this year's NC 'Bama got exposed.
Excuses like the ones they're making make me think it'll happen to them again, sooner rather than later.

Also wasn't there around 4 weeks to rest or recover after the end of the regular season?

Clemson BB? What's the question? Used to go some games. No more. Totally6 lost cause. Who cares anymore?

They didn't have a problem with that the previous years. The last 8 or 9 years ESPN proclaimed Bama as the greatest team of all time. The hype was there when Deshaun beat them in 2016. Everyone proclaimed that Bama was the greatest team and would be the first one to go 15-0. Well Deshaun and Hunter ended that hype. This year it was 2 true freshman. Next year it will be 2 true sophomores. ESPN has to keep up the hype because if they don't then how else can they explain how Bama blows through the SECheat as easily as they have. Seeing as the SECheat is the great conference to ever filed a team. Oh the SECheat ended up going 6-6 in bowl games/NC and the lowly ACC finished 6-5 with the BC game getting cancelled.

Clemson stressed them mentally, emotionally...

and physically. Clemson also crushed their ego, busted their bubble and stomped a greasy spot right out of their askes.
So yeah, mental stress and one emotion, embarrassment played a big part of their loss. But none of that would have been so had we not put 30 unanswered points on the scoreboard.

School is really hard during Christmas break.

I mean there's the "Christmas reading list" which is basically reading Christmas cards and the to/from on the tags on the presents.
That alone has led to mental fatigue in my house.

Bama seems never to handle big defeats well. Remember Deshaun getting run out of that restaurant in Tuscaloosa by a couple of hot-headed football players that he had schooled?
