The MAGA echo chamber thst makes up most of the site these days, they're getting mad at grok. Some right wing nut posts some BS garbage, and someone invariably asks Grok to verify. Grok pulls info from outside Twitter so it gives answers the echo chamber doesn't like and are all liberal lies since they come from outside the bubble.
Just fascinating.

Grok editorializing on the topic of the film industry, then acts like it is speaking for Musk, gets called out on that, claims it is Musk, then later admits to lying and citing false media reports and quotes, apologizes for doing so, then continues to lie.

It's just the closed-mindedness that's so amazing.

There is a tweet. I KNOW it's fake. There's plenty of evidence it's fake. It has been proven fake by hundreds of sources, with actual evidence. And they ask Grok if it's real. Grok sez no, it's fakenews and cites multiple sources proving this. And they get angry with Grok because they want so much to believe this that they won't accept that they've been had.
Make it make sense.

So does Elon's turn on Trump mean we should still listen to him since he's so brilliant?

I turned on Trump in 2017. Elon is just late to the party.

I think he knows what's up. He's not dumb. He is naive, but there are millions of naive geniuses all over the world. There are also very cunning morons all over the world as well, who prey on the naive geniuses.
America doesn't need a third party. We can have 50 and 48 of them will be marginalized no matter what. Our main problem isn't political at all. It's structural in nature, and rooted deep in human nature. Basically, we have a broken legislative branch of governemnt, and that is impacting the other branches, and the whole tree is at risk of disease and dying.
There isn't a party solution to this problem because it's a human nature problem. Those kinds of problems RARELY have political solutions. It requires a very cold, calculated, empirical solution that is neither political in nature, nor rooted in human nature.
As such I'm wary of ANY party that claims to be (or offer) a solution short of a real solution. I'm not going to flock to Elon Musk or the American party, but I WILL FLOCK to ANY PARTY who proposes an Article V convention. Dem, Pub, ####, even Trump. He won't, they won't, but still......
If Musk comes out, and the American Party comes out with a critical part of its platform being Congressional reform, an Article V convention, and term limits and/or a balanced budget amendment being the biggest issues on the table, I will JUMP through hoops to join.
Honestly I don't see myself jumping anywhere, but I'd sure LOVE to be surprised.

Elon is just an idiot when it comes to politics.

And that's not a shocker, or a fault for him. Ben Carson was the same way. Nobody can argue that Carson isn't a brilliant, accomplished man. But the sordidness, breadth and complexity of public policy can easily catch an otherwise genius-level person off-guard. It's why people are specialists in particular areas, and there are few (if any) masters of politics broadly. Zeihan is about as close as I've seen, and he's even more niche (foreign policy) than broad, and I'm sure he relies on specialists to inform his overall opinions.

Politics have no masters, or shouldn't, in our system, as designed anyway.

Was Hitler a master of Politics? Putin? Xi? Castro? Chavez? No, they were all opportunists, and populists. They enter a failing democracy and establish themselves as the "political" solution, when in fact they're just becoming autocrats and tyrants.
MANY MAGA types are absolutely fine with that time-tested, predictable "solution". I am not. The guy in NYC is the same, an opportunist. You think he'd win as mayor if Harris won as President? Humm....
The instability, due to legislative weakness, is empowering the extremes and the autocrat-leaning types to offer themselves as a savior. We could break hard left just as easily with the right messenger. That's not solving our problem, it's letting one cause another, bigger problem.
