Another Omaha team out of Clemson regional

Screw the NCAA and the media. They hate us in every sport. First basketball being left out, and now Tennessee being in our regional just like Vandy twice.
I’m tired of it. Hate making excuses for losing, but there’s something up. And obviously because Tennessee is frickin’ good. They were a top-10 predicted team in all of the NCAA tournament going in to make Omaha.
Yes it’s complaining.

Yeah, no one to blame but yourself. Had them down to their last strike and choked. And then had bases loaded. No outs to win the game and choked. After we let that slip away, I knew we were doomed

Tennessee was something like 6-16 on the road this year. Clemson not being in Omaha is absolutely on Clemson. Gotta start winning home regionals and letting UConn, Vandy , okla.state. Tennessee dog pile on your field.

I’ll agree with this. No excuses were made by Dabo and crew. We just started beating teams people thought we shouldn’t.
I will add though that the seeding is a bit suspect. No reason SC get that easy regional.

True, if you just look at the numbers. Do a deep dive and you see they were like us. Didn't start well until they mixed up their weekend rotation. Then they caught fire.
Like us and wake series. Joe Allen started that series. Grice wasn't pitching. I so wish we'd have played them our last series.

100% right. Our regional was tougher than any of the potential super regional matchups we could have gotten. Our bracket in Omaha was also going to be manageable. We would have had to face Skeens in he 1st game but if you manage to get by him, then you would have an advantage going forward. WF is pitching Lowder the first game. We could have easily won 2 of 3 from them this season and that was before we had our bullpen back together and rotation solidified. The problem we have is that we are a southern baseball team. The NCAA does take travel into account when pairing up regional teams and both the SEC & ACC get a lot of teams in. Couple that with the fact you can't have 2 teams from the same conference in a regional and that means there is a good possibility an SEC team and an ACC or going to always be in the same regional.

The 1st play of the Regional exemplified how Clemson executed in the regional. A routine grounder to SS by the Lipscomb lead off batter, a play made 1000x in practice and 100x during the season and it’s airmailed to 1B. Kyle Peterson commented on how routine plays in April become not so routine come Regionals and whoever handled that pressure usually wins in the postseason. They played poorly against Lipscomb, couldn’t capitalize on Grice’s outstanding outing by letting the moment get too big in the 9th against Tennessee, and then UNCC finished it off . Looked a lot like what has been seen before with postseason pressure issues.
Did anyone think Clemson would be hosting in March, NO, but they were and let the moment be too big for them. Hopefully 2024 willl be different

Maybe keep him in for 1 more batter but Ammons is more than capable of getting the last out. Bottom of 10th bases loaded with no outs, have to get a run across home plate.

Whomever lost that 14 inning game, was going nowhere. It happened to be us. We had our chances, many. No one's fault but Clemson. You're not coming back the next day after 14 innings, Tenn would have lost as well.

Is #4 Clemson losing a home regional different than #3 Arkansas and #6 Vanderbilt losing their home regionals in some way?
Let me guess, Arkansas and Vanderbilt were overrated because they were from the SEC.
The Tigers had a great season after a terrible start and was one out away from hosting a Super Regional. It didn't work out.
