let Riley draw something up or let the kid who hasn’t been practicing for several months attempt a field goal?

That worked great against FSU in the first Bowden Bowl.

You have to kick it in the second quarter if it’s the first attempt at a field goal. Third or fourth quarter the score, how the new kicker has kicked during the game and how the defense has played dictate what you do

That would be about a 43 yd kick. They said Gunn would still kick from 45. I guess it depends on who they really will let kick it since that seems right on the borderline. I’d probably go for it in the second quarter.

There is a sarcastic thought in the back of my mind telling me to punt.
But I would prefer to see the offense playing for the win. Inside the 20, I say let the feller from Porter-Gaud have a swing at it.

But if we’re in a back and forth higher scoring game, I’d rather go for a TD against FSU and fail then kick it and fail
It really depends on the score and how the offenses are moving
If it’s FSU 3-0, 7-0 kick it If Clemson has the lead, kick it
If it’s 13-3, 10-0, go for the first down

To heck with all of this. I've been predicting Clemson games since I was 10 years old. ( 1957 ) and sometimes I get these feelings about a game and have been fairly accurate in the past.Got a good feeling about this one. Close in first quarter. Clemson takes advantage in the second quarter from FSU turnovers and go into half with a double digit lead. FSU falters in the 3rd after Clemson takes the openiong kickoff down the field. More FS miscues in the forth. Clemson has one but not enough for FS. Clemson wins 38-17. CU has a chance to score again at the end but Dabo runs out the clock following an interception.

what it takes early in the game, so the offense will have more confidence in our ability to score three points later on. It's a no bwainer.

It’s too early to be giving away 3 pts, especially versus 4th and 5 which is probably a low percentage conversion anyway. Now maybe we haven’t punted yet are up 21-7 so his leg is loose from the extra points. Maybe we are with the wind and this 43-yarder is really more like a 38-yarder. If we are down 21-7 we should kick it too.
