NIL Budget for Clemson

Are we losing recruits due to the ACC contract hurting us versus SEC and BIG? If those conferences are making $40 or $50M more than us and it goes straight to NIL how the heck will we ever compete for a natty again? We seem totally screwed with getting out of the conference much less the SEC or NIG even giving us an invite.

Someone told me the schools are forbidden from directly funding NIL, it was for third parties only. So, obviously the Power-2 schools getting tons more money can't possibly affect NIL deals.

TV contract $ paid to the schools is not buying these players. It is private $$$$ from boosters. Unless we have a billionaire benefactor, we will not be in the same universe as Oregon, Texas, etc.

TV contract money and NIL are two entirely separate revenue streams. NIL money comes from boosters and third-parties as Clemson and other Universities are prohibited from funding NIL directly. We don't have the billionaire alum that will overpay the top prospects and our head coach won't use NIL to recruit high school players, that is why we are falling behind for now.
Starting July 1, 2025, schools can participate in revenue sharing of up to $22 million a year and pay it directly to any athletes they wish. Clemson will be a top player in this part of the new revenue era.

However, the SEC and B1G schools getting tons of revenue from the tv deals can tell their boosters to focus their funding more on NIL rather than the traditional stuff as that can be covered by the revenue.

Clemson is a small school relatively speaking. Even with the recent growth over past few years, there is not the alumni base of large schools. South Carolina is not a wealthy state, we are not pumping out mass numbers of millionaires.
Sad as it is Clemson can't compete when it is a money game. I don't see any fixing it unless some one can find a lithium mine or oil suddenly springs up in Pickens county.
We got folks complaining about IPTAY raising levels and ticket prices. We not going to come up with millions to buy new high school commits.

I say every Clemson family/ fans give two hundred a year to NIL. That will greatly increase our chance to compete.

Dabo offers nothing to recruits out of high school...

I think there are kids that would consider Clemson if Dabo offered something. The school does count for something, and not all kids jump to the highest bidder
But Dabo offers zero

colleges and coaches cannot directly pay college athletes through NIL (name, image, and likeness) deals - copied straight from the NCAA NIL guidelines

Not the same bucket - we don’t have enough big money dudes trying to buy a winner
of course dabos stance on the portal helps them keep their money put away also
