I noticed that too. This team has 1 Grad Student, Senior and the rest underclassmen. We will be a good team for a long time. Great news is, we are adding the same quality back year after year. Reload mode. It's a very nice change from the old days.

I heard Hunter is trying to play TE on 3rd down. Hunter has been secretly getting time at middle LB and DE(strong side) in between quick scores.
When we play FSU he will kick off and play safety too.
Dabo is letting Renfrow train the new high school coaches. He is tired because Soccer practice is tough after practicing catching for Deshaun.
He could secretly be our backup QB too, because that was what he played in high school.
Big Dex is helping Hunter get his books from class to class, trying to get on the good side of him after Hunter hurt him in spring practice.
Go Tigers, Go Hunter!

Agree, but all skill positions are stacked too

Agree completely about WRU, but I think you can say that about all the skill positions. Look at that tight end group. I know not much experience behind Leggett, but man oh man are they talented. And, look at RB. Behind the Train, you don't even have Feaster listed because he is not there yet. Adam and Dye would start anywhere else except maybe FSU. I know, QB backup is questionable, but again, the talent is there. I cannot believe that our offensive line is going to be so good with so many youngsters. As for Renfrow being the back up punter, I'm not sure that we will have to punt more than a time or two each game, if that. Finally, on defense, those outstanding DTs (I mean, all-world Dexter Lawrence is 3rd string??? - understandable) are going to have to create a huge interior push to allow our DEs and blitzing linebackers to get to QBs early in the season to allow our secondary to grow up. If we can get the secondary raised right by the FSU game, watch out, we're going to Tampa!
Here is what is most interesting (and a little off topic for this thread) - almost every poll I have seen has us and FSU in the top 5 and most in the top 4. Now I really, really love that, but does anybody else believe for a minute that the committee would put 2 ACC teams in the CFP? I still think it is the undefeated winner of FSU/Clemson. Possibly one-loss winner IF early enough in the season. But an undefeated winner of that game and the 1-loss loser of the game? Never happen.

My observations
May 10, 2016, 4:30 PM
|
|
- Interesting that Edmond beat out Mark Fields for one of the CB spots. He did have a good spring game. Will be intrigued to see how Mullen, Wallace, and others factor in come fall camp. - Looks like they are still showing Wilkins primarily as a DT. Ferrell looked good all spring and should be a solid DE for us. Xavier Kelly will be one to watch during camp. - Good to see Deon Cain back on the two-deep. Love him as a change of pace for Mike Williams--in our offense, gotta keep fresh legs on the field. - We are still young at OT. Two true freshmen backing up Hyatt and Fruhmorgen. - Great to see the competition at TE. 4 guys interchangeable behind Leggett.

That Clemson can play for the national title last year... Be predicted to make the playoffs THIS year because of the offensive strength...
and still have only 3 Seniors listed in the top 29 players on that offense.

True but count Artavis and Deshaun as Seniors. However, if we can find a suitable replacement for Deshaun we will be more than alright. You keep Deon, Hunter, Ray Ray, and 4 of 5 OL. On defense you lose Watkins, Boulware, Jadar, and Cordrea. I don't see a lot of unknown early entrants and hopefully there isn't too much attrition. We are set for years.

Giella plays center or guard Green plays guard and tackle.
Anchrum is better tackle than either one as we speak and Pollard is equal to Green but 300 lbs.

There will be some true freshmen that will come in to.......
May 10, 2016, 5:45 PM

.......compete for starting roles as well. The post spring depth chart means nothing and sometimes it is used to light a fire under a kid more talented that maybe not have the fire in the belly just yet and needs something tangible in their face to say "look this is where you are right now". I can promise you that this will change post August camp.....

Noticed the same thing. I figured one, if not both those kids, would wind up being a factor. Glad to see it, but I just want the best on the field, no matter their name.

Is anyone surprised that Nick maintained his place as backup? I wondered if Bryant had surpassed him this Spring. Muse didn't look bad to me in the Spring game. I expect Bryant to push hard this Fall.

Glad to see 2 things: 1 - Van Smith has been everything we could ask for in that position. Nice to see him being rewarded for those efforts. 2 - Nick at QB #2, ahead of Bryant. Nick can move the chains well enough in the absence of DW4, but I don't think Bryant can protect the ball, not move the chains on a consistent basis. I just do not see him ever being #2 at QB. There might be special situations that we could use him to RUN the ball, but that's it IMO.
