I thought he called a great game. We gave up 17 points and we constantly put pressure on Sellers. Not his fault we couldn’t tackle. He put the defense in position to make plays and they couldn’t do it. Credit Sellers as well. The defense didn’t lose this game…the offense, just like the Pitt game, fell asleep in the second half.

Goodwin needs to go. Since he has taken over, the defense has gotten worse YOY. Any decent DC would have had someone covering Sellers every play. We was by far Carolina’s best player. We did not and we lost. Pretty simple.

I’d say his defense’s tackling was horrific. Has been all year. Why would it be different this game?
That’s why Goodwin has to be held responsible and lose his job.

The fact that he never put a spy on Sellers and rushed 5 or 6 is the reason we lost. Every missed sack resulted in a 20 yd gain. That is squarely on Goodwin's shoulders. Also, the poor tackling is coaching as well.

I agree he seemed to put us in a good position win, and, importantly, defense held for almost the entire game. If we are honest, the decision to go for it on 4th and short in 1st quarter was equally as costly. You almost always take points early in a game. This is basic coaching. Has we kicked that FG, we would be lining up for a kick to win it.
But, even though defense did hold them with pitiful angles and tackling. I think its important to remember that it's not like Sellers beat us w great rcvrs, a star RB,.a.NFL.scheme. he.beat us bc on some critical plays 5 or 6 of.our guys simply.could tackle. And that last play, the inability to.do fundamentally tackle cost us. He was their offense. It's pretty one dimensional. Tackle effectively and win
This is not a problem this game or that one play either. Tackling, positions, angles, assignments have been a problem on and off for all of last season and a lot of this season. It doesnt seem to be improving, at least not consistently. That is a bigger problem than one play where Sellers ran thru and around us.
And that is his problem. He is the DC. Player selection, scheme and, yes, lack of fundamental improvements and development are his responsibility. It's not like.the players had one bad game ... that would be on them. This problem has been a point of complaint since early last year and almost every game. That's a system/program problem.
