I think NCST wins 31-17. I watched FSU against LSU. And thought maybe they will be tough this year. But after watching other games I’m not sure. I may be wrong though. State also hasn’t really wowed me so they have a chance this weekend.

even in their glory years, FSU always seemed to have trouble with State. NCS is home and want to make a statement that their still relevant after losing to us. State by at least 10 in a good game.

I want to pick Florida State bad. I want them to be ranked when we play, but I don’t trust there offense.

I also think it is better for us if NCS wins because if FSU wins that will be incredibly motivating to them coming into our game vs. having dropped their last 2 games to 2 teams we have already beaten.

Florida State(21) @ NC State(24)

Early in the week; I was thinking FSU because of how much I think of Jordan Travis and the two WR's they have.
Upons more analysis; I think NCSU will win! Main reason for my change of mind: NCSU has more of those super seniors who have played a lot of ball. Plus, they are still ranked high and will win back a lot of the prestige by beating a good FSU team.
FSU will be a good team all year; because they beat LSU in Louisiana! ??
I like FSU's WR's more. But, Leary isn't going to make a bunch of mistakes! NCSU also because of the style of defense won't allow Travis to kill them on broken plays where he keeps his eyes downfield and hits 4 and 14 for big plays. FSU will have to earn it all the way down the field!
Going to be a good game either way though! Neutral site or at FSU I would pick FSU. But, they are playing in N. Carolina.

This game is really tough for me to judge because NCS has a lot of very fundamental players. It keeps them from looking like a great team when you watch them play, but the end result typically ends as a pretty well-played game.
They are not going to jump off the screen when watching them play, but they have a pretty high floor and they are not inclined to have a terrible game very often. I think this trait of their team is what kept them in the game with Clemson so long.
On the other hand, FSU has some exciting players to watch (most notably their giant WR and their DE) but those players can be a little more hit or miss. FSU has the ability to hang with anyone when they are at their best, but they probably also have the ability to lose to anyone as well.
I certainly hope FSU loses because I almost always pull for them to lose.
If emotions and big plays rule the day, then I think FSU wins.
If consistency rules the day, then I think NCS wins.

Nole perspective.

Warchant.com is the #1 independent website on FSU sports. 5 out of 6 of their on air guys picked NCSU.
Here is the reasoning: 1. Our kicker is in a blue funk. 4-9 on the year. Missed a 29 yarder last week. Down 28-7 in the third Noles scored a TD. Norvell went for 2. Didn't trust the guy to kick and XPT. Missed it. 28-13. Scored again. Went for 2. Made it. 28-21. 2. Our best DL, a tackle, has been out since first game. Teams have been gashing the DL straight up the middle. No reason to think NCSU won't do the same. 3. Our best OL, a tackle, has been injured. The other starting tackle is also subject to getting beat consistently.
Now, on the good side. 1. Jared Verse, the DE who has been playing great, played 20 or so plays last week after being injured a few weeks ago. Played well but in limited time. Is allegedly back at full strength. Easily our best pass rusher. 2. Robert Scott, the OT who is our best OL is reportedly back this week. (Norvell keeps injuries close to the vest, but that is the best report.) 3. Jordan Travis was wearing a brace on his knee last week, recovering from an injury. He should be more mobile this week.
My guess is Noles will have to score 35+ to win. I'm not sure they will do that. Hope I'm wrong, but I think it will be something like 34-26. But, if I were a betting man, I wouldn't take NCSU and give the points.

Best chance for Noles to win.

Have a couple of BIG plays. 2 TDs of 50+ yards. Noles kicking game makes it tougher to score in the redzone.
4th and 6th on the 15, for example. FSU will probably go for it rather than kick a FG.

I think the best chance for an FSU win is a fast start. NC State will either be great or terrible. Don’t see an in between for them. If they get down they may just fold. If they come in with a chip on their shoulder they may be as dangerous as a wounded dog. I really think it will be one extreme or the other.

FSU wins . . .

NCSU’s offense is broken . . . trash receivers . . . no running attack . . . NCSU’s defense can’t create pressure on QB
FSU wide outs rule the day . . . QB has clean pocket FSU defense keeps Leary on the run
NCSU is overrated . . . DoDo’s mind is still in Tigertown
Lenard’s Loser . . . in a close one . . . NCSU

This will be Doeren's biggest game to date

As head coach at NC State. They have to win, or the simple fact of the matter will be, nothing has really changed under his guidance. Overcoming tough losses is the true litmus test of a good coach...'don't let an opponent beat you twice'.
If the 'Noles win, the chatter in Raleigh about Doeren will strongly mirror the chatter in Clemson about Brownell.

Agree, it should be interesting. However, neither team seems to be a consistent threat yet. NC State hasn't really played a challenging schedule yet (except for us, & we're still gradually improving--not playing at our previous CFB Playoff levels in MHO). Also, their experienced QB hasn't been playing up to his potential. FL St really surprised me by winning at LSU to start their season. They also surprised me by continuing to win until last week's close game with Wake Forest.
It's a toss-up game in MHO. But, I'll grudgingly pick NC St by 7 or less points--primarily because they're playing at home!

Cannot figure out FSU right now. I watched them some last weekend still couldn’t get a read on them. I’m still thinking they beat LSU(but not sure how good LSU is)and Wake seemed to be in control last weekend from what I seen. Wake is a solid football team and would not have been surprised in either of them winning that game.
Do not know the mindset of either team losing last weekend but feel it was a tougher loss for State than the Noles. Could not have said that 10 years ago but they are not what they once were and State expected to beat Clemson. Does State let Clemson beat them 2 times or do they come out and dominate the Noles? Looking forward to watching that one.

this year. They aren't an aggressive offense by nature, but they seem to just lack playmakers this year too. I think they will chew up clock and score just enough to win behind a good effort from their defense.
I like the under 52 in this game more than either side of the spread.
