Crazy perspective on Notre Dame - Clemson scheduling.

Years ago, a game against Notre Dame brought in enough revenue to fund some programs for the year. It was a prized occurrence. It still is an important date, but with NIL less so. Certainly it will help the ratings and increase Clemson’s ACC revenue by the new formula. But here’s the crazy thought for a 60 year old Clemson fan….

They picked Clemson for a long term deal. They NEEDED Clemson to replace Southern Cal, because they are probably losing them as the B1G is trying to force Notre Dame to join and limiting out of conference games. They could have picked FSU or Miami. They picked Clemson. To replace Southern Cal. Who would have dreamed this 40 years ago? I could be wrong on this, but that’s what I am hearing in B1G land (I live in Ohio).

I feel like a deal with more games will be forthcoming too with Miami or FSU or both.

What gets me is we will be playing ND more than GT. I still don't get why Neff didn't request GT as a permanent opponent. We have always recruited Georgia heavily and some of our best players have come from there. We need to be playing a Georgia team every year. Playing in Atlanta at Tech was always my favorite ACC road game. An improved GT had really good TV ratings last year too.
