Wanted to pop in this morning and remember my mother here, she passed peacefully at home early yesterday morning at 88 years old. It wasn't unexpected, but maybe a little quicker than hospice had estimated when we moved from palliative to hospice on Monday. She had a long and happy life and lived over 70 years of Clemson University athletics with an unrivaled passion. I know a lot of you got the chance to meet RH Mom at our tailgate, and the way she saw it was if you were for Clemson, you were family. Our family is doing OK, although I'll admit I'm still a little numb this morning. I told all the friends who stopped by her house all day yesterday that she and RH Dad are together now and have the best seats in the house for watching Clemson football games. If they're still around, go see your parents today and hug 'em tight.

this week. I know that is tough, but maybe it is best that Hospice wasn't involved for too long. She was ready. Good luck in the next few weeks, the whole family will probably need a little bit of that.

as my grand parents who have been gone for a while. What a blessing to have your mom for so long even though those last few years were probably not so easy. Prayers for your family, RH.

One thing I know from reading your posts is that I hope I’m as good a son to my Mom if she needs me as you were to yours, and I know she realized that every day.
Prayers for you and the family….it sounds like she was an old-school strong family matriarch, and those absences in the family never do get filled in.

being so engaged with a parent as you were.
She was an awesome person to raise a kid that remained as loyal & loving & compassionate as you were to her . . . . and you are probably that way to a lot of other folks as well.
