When you are the starting quarterback of a major program like Clemson, those questions are completely appropriate. This isn’t high school! He was paid six figures plus last year from Dr. pepper. He’s pretty much a professional.

Never a single question about the quality of a person DJ is. Every criticism I and most others have had has been his poor play as a QB. He will do well in life.

This. We all want Jim to succeed, both on and off the field. He has a really good soul, and I want the best for him. I wish it could have been different, but I know he will be successful in life, whether it's rebounding his football career or not, he will have a meaningful mark on this world one way or another.

I hate how much I hated DJ the QB bc as a person he seems like a class act. Really wish he had developed while he was here. Definitely need to make some changes on the staff no reason a 3 year QB looks like a freshmen in his last season. Idk what can change but player development the last few years is concerning.
Either way wish the best to DJ hopefully if he decides to transfer he goes somewhere that can bring him up to speed. He does have 2 years of eligibility after all.

Regardless of what DJ does from this minute forward, I swear I only want the very best of anything that he deserves for. It's not Tiger nation's fault that DJ isn't the right QB for the system that is run at Clemson. I trust that he has done his best, and there isn't anyone that could convince me that DJ hasn't done his best, but with defending him, his best with the offensive style system that is run at Clemson, DJ's style just isn't the right style for DJ, but I do believe that he gave it his all. His friend Cade is quicker, and faster than DJ is, and to hit the plays in our offense quickness is a must for this offense to have results. It was the very same for DW4, and for TL16, the QB has to click like bang bang or it's too late to get the play off. I said tonight, and I've said it before. DJ just doesn't have that bang bang play ability that our offense has to have to work, or our play makers will already be pass the point of where the ball has to be, and here is an example of what I'm talking about, those passes to the outside, by the time DJ gets the ball to the play maker, coverage is already all around them and forcing usually gets the QB in trouble, or the play maker gets gang tackled. But when Cade gets the ball there, there is room for the play maker to get going before the ganged up on. DJ needs an O Line where he can stand in the pocket and find his receivers. I will pray that DJ has an excellent future for whatever he does!!!!

…I know the opportunity to ask DJ this may never come now, so, this is a question left UNASKED!
I have too much respect for DJ’s character and commitment to Clemson to put him in this position.
You could see DJ wanted to get away when you asked this question about his future.

I've been saying it for a long time, dj is in the wrong offensive system. His skills are more suited to a run and shoot offense. The offensive scheme that comes to my mind that is very similar is the one at Ohio state.

It was tough watching him on the sidelines last night as the game unfolded. He has been way more classy than the Tigernet mob has been toward him. I get it and I am the first to say if Dabo makes the change even 1 quarter earlier we win vs Gamecocks and are in the playoff with last night's performance. My opinion is there was an unnatural reason that DJ couldn't be replaced earlier, we will never know but I trust Dabo on this as he has invested way more of his life into the Clemson football program than I have being a fan for the last 40 years. He said it last night...future is bright! GO tIGERS! p.s.. great fan turnout last night here in Charlotte...im sure some stayed home due to gamecock-itis...but let's rock the Orange Bowl now.

It’s sad we had to lose to a rival and screw up any chance at a CFP like we did but Dabo must have felt like he had to let it play out on the field. DJ left the coaches, the fans, the boosters and the NIL money no choice but to go with Cade. Cade took it and ran with it. It’s over, and DJ can’t say he wasn’t given a fair chance…..I mean like a lot of them!

We were at the ACCCG sitting right behind the Clemson bench and after the very first play of the first series, our punter started warming up. Now I'm not a football coach and I don't know if that's standard procedure to warm up the punter between 1st and 2nd down, but it sure looked telling. My son and I, and everyone wearing orange around us, went bananas when we saw #2 start loosening up right in front of us. Well, everyone except the drunk frat boys in powder blue wearing their vulgar / profane T shirts. Come on man, is that really necessary? Try to have some class.....
