TN Fan said everyone hates Bama and wants Bama to lose to TN. I said I don’t know, I feel like we have a healthy respect for Bama and that most Clemson fans really dislike TN and the TN fan base. Ether way I win because I get to rip on the Bama fan or the two TN fans tomorrow night In our text group lol. Assuming we win too

I also lived in TN for several years and the vols fans are some of the most obnoxious out there. Many of them genuinely could not understand why TN didn’t hire Peyton Manning to be their head coach after Kiffin skipped town.

I live in the Nashville area myself. Have to say, there are A LOT of Bama fans around.
Personally, I have more respect for Bama and think they have more respect for us. TN has been a midget hiding behind giants chanting "SEC" for the past 15 years. Many of the ones I speak with honestly think that if they played Clemson's schedule they would have the same results.
All that said, I actually like their odds in this game.

I think about what's the best for Clemson. I say a Bama win is better for Clemson because TN goes away until they play UGA and then a TN win against UGA helps Clemson even more. I don't think TN can beat Bama, if Bama is healthy. However, if Young is less than 100% or doesn't play, it's a different story.

I lived in Knoxville too and always thought the UT/BAMA rivalry (traditionally always the 3rd Saturday of October) took a back seat to the UT/Florida rivalry in last 25-30 years. Funny that UF rivalry always seemed a bigger deal to UT fans more so than it did to Gator fans. The Gator fans have great rivals in FSU and Georgia. UT really never had a good instate rival. It's Vandy for goodness sakes. (Yawn)

Bama and UGA are most likely to play in the SEC Championship Game (unless UGA loses to UT. If that happens? Look out!). If they both go in undefeated it is probable that they will both make the CFP, leaving only two additional spots. Let's assume the undefeated B1G winner is in. There is still a possibility that there are 3 additional undefeated conference champions (USC, OSU/TCU and Clemson). Of course it is very rare to have that many undefeated teams at the end of the season, but who knows? If a 1 loss Bama loses to UGA in the SEC it just opens up more opportunities for our Tigers.

Funny how things change over time. I spent a year at Tennessee 68 years ago to get a Masters Degree and found the UT fans to be top notch.Like wise when I first moved to Raleigh in 1957 the NC State fans had a reputation of being decent folk. I guess it's just how society has changed over a half century plus.
But, I'll still go with the Vol's over Bama.

He played basketball for the Vols back in the early 50's. He is also a major donor in their booster organization, so I've had the opportunity to attend countless UT games over the years, and my opinion of their fans hasn't changed. They are just about as ignorant, mouthy, and deluded as Nancy State and uof7c fans which makes it really hard to pull for them.

To my knowledge Alabama has never complained to the ncaa about Clemson! Tenn. certainly has with the results being years of probation.

I have family from and in Knoxville and my three cousins, who are like siblings to me, went there.
As an aside, I live in NC and one son is at UNC and one at NCSU, so I am OK with those schools as well.
Lte's face it, there is too much hate in this world, so I have chosen to hate only one team. Guess which one? Ha ha

I have a very thick file that I made and kept thru the probation years caused exclusively by the University of Tennessee.
If you read these documents,news releases, newspaper articles etc. you might look at the Vols differently.
Our friends in Chapel Hill grabbed the ball and ran with it also!
I didn’t use the word ‘hate’ in my post, and I never do, but there is nothing about that university that makes me wish them success of ANY kind.

We moved in and out but many of my years growing up were at home in Rockwood, just 40 miles SE of Knoxville. God blessed me in that I just happened to be in Easley, SC when I realized I needed to be edgumakated.
I do not, repeat, DO NOT favor the Knoxville football team but the weekend I may wear one of my Clemson shirts which have seen too much sunshine and had many too many encounters with the washing machine and dryer.
So, if you see and old man wearing a Clemson cap and a Volunteer looking shirt say 'hello,' to this guy who wants Tennessee to win but not enough to actually spend a penny to see it happen. I might watch the TN/Bama game if it doesn't conflict with my team's game with FSU.
