RifleNet - General question

been curious about the design between these two styles of rifle.
One with the full length 'shroud' and one with more of an M16 type 'shroud'
Obviously don't know what I am talking about so I figured I would ask here...
Is there any real difference between these styles functionally or otherwise, assuming all else is equal? Also looks like one has iron sights and the one on the left needs a sight added.
Not planning on buying one of the attached but the two were side by side for reference

Blindfold yourself, stick them in your mouth, and then pull the trigger to see which one you like better.

Please be careful who you say this kind of thing to. I suffer from severe depression and daily suicidal ideation. To the wrong person, this is not a safe or appropriate thing to joke about. Nobody knows what's going through other's heads.

Also, if your having suicidal thoughts a lot, probably shouldn't be buying a gun

Yes, unfortunately SSRIs dull the effects of shrooms quite a bit.

4-5 grams and i start to maybe feel something at the time. 3 grams and I am typically cured of depression for 5-7 days, but tolerance sucks so much I can't do it every week or id be up near 6-7 grams to have any effect at all.

But I agree with you, only ever tried in a clinical setting.

what i'm getting into and i'm not upset. Just wanted to let you know that 'blow your head off' is a pretty extreme take
I will say though... the internet may not be the right place for me?... Only once has someone advised me to do this.
No hard feelings. Just wanted to make you aware of my perspective, for whatever that's worth.

Heat dissipation

You can buy an AR with no sights, sights, red dot…..you can configure how you want.
Every other month I run about 300 rounds through your right “traditional” option and no issues at all.
I have an SBR that I will run into heat/malfunction issues at about 150 rounds. Kind of depends.
When purchasing you want to keep in mind the size of drag bag you want to be toting around. I tote around everyday and in multiple vehicles so I use the SBR more often.
Your purchase decision should be made around your usage. You want something just to be home defense, iron sights, traditional trigger housing and $500 will do it. If you want to sling rounds every weekend, you need to look at heat shield options, adjustable trigger, red dot sights. $2000 will get you there.

it out with the sales guy. They are typically super cool about it. There are almost too many options out there. Go see what you like and then you can negotiate price from what you see online. Guns are very low margin so you will have to keep that in mind. You won’t save thousands. Maybe a hundred or two.
Listen!! If you go with something like a red dot, you need to take a class. It’s imperative. You need to learn how to see the target and dot together. It takes time.

at that price I would worry if you were constantly shooting, but I hear their service is amazing. I would assume it would be great if you are down in SC.
I only shoot Smith and Wesson 556, so I do not have a lot to compare to.
