Year 2 of the Head Coach Josh Cody era!
Note: The previous three Clemson seasons:
- 1926 (The season prior to HC Josh Cody arriving): 2-7
- 1927 (HC Josh Cody’s 1st season at Clemson): 5-3-1
- 1928 (HC Josh Cody’s 2nd season at Clemson): 8-3
It is rather obvious how much improvement the right head coach can make! Even a Chicken could see this much improvement!

Clemson’s first All American, O. K. Pressley was later quoted about Clemson’s uniforms at the time:
“Pressley once commented on the uniforms in the 1920s: "We wore patches on patches but they were good times. We often tossed those leather skullcap-type helmets to the sidelines sand played without. One player shunned any pads or protective equipment because it slowed him down.”

Attendance for the game in Columbia vs the Gamechickens swelled to a record 14,000. All 14,00 got to watch another beatdown of epic proportions.

Not that I don’t appreciate the minor sports but I really appreciate the one sport the entire sports world revolves around. No, not World Cup Soccer.
I suppose if I had not rebelled as a child, I would be a whiny Gamecock today and I would be forced to find something else to get excited about every fall.
