Thank you for sharing such an inspirational post. I pray for Willie and his family as he continues to lead young men in football but more importantly leading kids at College to Jesus Christ.
I had a chance to watch him at Byrnes HS. He was a very talented athlete. I believe had he not had the injuries at Clemson, TB would have had more success at Clemson with WK under center.
Like WK TB had his share of bad breaks at Clemson that kept him from 10 plus wins and conference championships.

Hope this doesn't come off wrong, but his dad is just about the last type of person I would've ever expected him to be based on who Willy is and how they both talk. He doesn't fit the "Southern football dad" stereotype at all. Again, I don't mean that as a slight whatsoever, he seems like a really genuine guy who cares about his son's wellbeing, and that's by far the most important thing, so big props to him. And I have no doubt that was crucial for Willy during his tough times in college; it may have actually saved his life having his dad's support. I was just caught very much by surprise by his personality and his voice.

…that came to play for Clemson.
He was the first “Deshaun/Trevor” type of QB. He was the “home town boy” who I wanted to take Clemson to the top of the mountain.
It is good to see him content and succeeding in life.
